Dear Mr. Geminder,


I write this on behalf of hundreds of others who contribute financially to the Carlton Football Club over a number of years, completely flummoxed by your continued position on the Board of Directors of the Carlton Football Club, as well as the ongoing question of what it is you actually contribute in this position that your mother-in-law cannot do herself in her own position on the board.



With the pending sacking of Mick Malthouse as senior coach of the Carlton Football Club, it surely must make those such as yourself wonder who the media will target next as a point of scrutiny with such higher profile targets already moved on, or provided public guarantees of their position next year such is the case with Marc Murphy and Bryce Gibbs.


I don't think it's without reason to suggest that the excess nature of a family "owning" two seats on the board unnecessarily would be a particular direction the media would head in. Needless to say, your past involvement with the failed NBL franchise, the South Dragons brought up. All of a sudden the portrayal of Ruffy Geminder: failed sports entreprenuer becomes a very easy picture to paint. I question the impact such a portrayal would have on your more lucrative and successful business ventures as well as the indent left on your reputation in the corporate world.


I am well aware of the democratic processes of the Club, in particular the amount of signatures required to force an EGM and challenge of the board. I just think it's far better for all parties that you do the right thing and step down from the Board that you have contributed absolutely nothing toward in the ample time you have been a part of it.

Marcus Clarke, Gleeson and Greg Lee should also go. Been on the board for 7-8 years. According to the website they are on the football sub-committee as well.

You can't stop the same people from being re elected unless they stepped away and took on neutral observer status.
But the way they're doing things right now it's impossible to dislodge them.
In an election the members would have a say on things.
Hardly anybody on that board got in via an election. They're invites.
It's been an invitation only board..
The independent review committee will keep that status quo and make things even more difficult to be voted on.

Right now it's all about the rebuild and sos.

The INC simply profiles them, but anyone up for election must follow its process. I don't imagine it being a difficult hurdle for anyone of decent acumen to overcome, at all.

Just follow the process, and if you think you're not going to get a recommendation for political reasons, have your own campaign going in the media. All you need these days is a Twitter page, a Facebook page and a mobile phone. The rest is whether you can prove your credentials and orate.

That being said, some of you really need to shape up if you want to be at the forefront of that conversation. You're barely a few notches above the Fevola fans right now. You need to get better at asking and answering the hard questions.


Maybe the board thinks that, but if you've ever met or dealt with SOS you'd know differently.
