it's totally plausible. Geelong are a very, very good side. make no mistake.

I'm in awe of them!
I'm also a genius coach,
but my players are total crap.
Now, extend my contract and give me a pay rise.

I've prepared MM's post game media conference:

Geelong is an impressive Team
We'll keep changing the players until they stick to my game plan
It's not my faulthouse

We need to get games into him...without damaging his spirit.

So we are good oon the inside but are struggling to keep uup with classy young legs on the oouutside.

OK, lets get some ouutside run.

Boekhurst, Yarran, Murphy, Judd Armfield & Thomas (if fit) all outside speed to link up with inside mids or running out of defense and break lines, even Everitt....Buckley should be amongst those names too imo. Dont know if walker is fit, but if he was fit he'd be another outside candidate.

Inside mids Gibbs Cripps Curnow (tag Selwood)...maybe even White although Im not convinced hes a mid, but he does have a big body to hold his own as an inside mid, and definetely Kreuzer adds an extra inside mid when he rucks.

Docherty Simpson and Tuohy to provide run from defense and link with those outside runners mentioned above....Byrne would be in amongst that lot if fit.

If we can gget the contested ball Ok and get it out to the outside runners and run with the ball iinstead of bombing it, then the forwards may have something to look forward to.

Now if we can run the ball down from the miidfield and hit up leading forwards like Henderson and even Everitt, they should also have enough mobility to run the ball and pass to our big ffrwards Casboult and Watson.

Sounds easy doesn't it?

Just got to inject some confidence in the players with a plan which is plausible using the tropps we have on hand.

Buckley, Bokehuerst, Cripps, Graham, Henderson, Kreuzer
Those 5 are in our best 22 and have to play
It isn't gifting games
The selection of the first four named is called player development

NB- I would give Kreuzer one more week in the 2s so we are 100% sure. Watson gets his last chance

Boeky, Buckley and Cripps to come in. Hopefully Hendo and Kreuze.

Can't see the point in dropping younger players at this stage, play them and back them in. I know we don't have great young talent, but we may unearth someone we don't expect, as opposed to giving mediocre plodders a go in Ellard.

After watching the 2s for a half Whiley was excellent in and under, I would have him back in (not playing a tagging role) with hopefully cripps and graham.
Whiley, Judd, Gibbs, Cripps, Bell, Curnow - Inside Mids
Graham, Murphy, Thomas, Yarran, Everitt - Outside Mids

Even after writing this can't help but think our stock of outside mids is rather poor.

I would like to see Kreuzer keep playing in the 2's until he shows some real form. He has been out a long time and can't be ready yet. He will be much better to come back if he has time to get his footy mojo back through a few games in the 2's.

Would be nice if all the ins were fit.

There is something seriously wrong with the structure of this side.

There is no question that we need more run, but what is the best way to use types such as Buckley and Boekhorst?

I would like to see Buckley given licence to roan and attack the ball and carry it if possible, even if he can only do it for part of each quarter.

Graham and Whiley would both benefit from being given blocks of games interchanging on the ball and not played as taggers.

Reckon they will drop Watson, but think it will be a mistake. He is much more of a chance to be effective if the ball is delivered into the forward line quickly rather than the rubbish served up on Saturday. I'd give him a few more weeks until Kreuzer finds touch.

If you'd watched the NB's the other day, you'd realise he is nowhere near ready.

I agree. I would prefer to see Buckley making mistakes while still busting a gut and giving us some run than watch guys who will never make it or are past it.

The treatment of Graham is truly baffling. He's consistently in the best for the NB so that means he's either a) ready to take the next step up to AFL or b) needs to work on some deficiencies before justifying his selection. Elevating him to the seniors and playing him for 25 minutes as a sub only to be dropped the following week is just bizarre. It's not like we have guys banging down the door to push him out.
