back to the future, huh?

everyone said it about kruezer and gibbs and murphy. kruezer has spent his whole time broken down, gibbs has turned to fashion and murphy is a middle of the road introvert.

i'll pass on the tanking and be in the firmly, "lets try and win every game we can and develop an excellent culture on & off the field" camp. losing becomes toxic and it breaks developing minds.

interesting to note that MLG has been there for five years - anyone else agree he is part of the PROBLEM, not SOLUTION?

waiting until the end of season to sack mick is a train wreck waiting to happen.

then it's a hurried approach to grab a coach, work out a plan as to how we're going to play and then strategise for incoming players for FA & the draft?

we all know carlton don't do the multitask thing well, if at all. the waiting to let mick go plan has disaster written all over it, imo.

I'll take the Murphy, Kreuzer and Gibbs years over the Bootsma, Watson and Lucas years, personally.

coaching is important. tanking is not only the easy way out, it's the wrong way out.

It would have taken a minor miracle for Simpson to keep the Eagles competitive, so to have them where they are now, having finally ticked off a big team away from home, is pretty remarkable.

It's challenging times like this that can be the making of players, coaches and clubs. The Eagles looked at rock bottom at half-time against the Dockers in round three, but the turnaround has been stark.

It would have been all too easy for Simpson and West Coast to write this season off, but hindsight may one day suggest this year - and maybe even this win - was a real turning point.

It's probably a moot point.

First seven weeks were the easiest of the year. Tanking or not, we're not winning many even with our best efforts/team on the park.

Malthouse will more than likely be gone...
If you think about the worst teams over the decades it's what happens.
Remember Tony jewell pulling his hair as one of a parade of coaches?
Poor boards don't look to the tone they set.. They blame coaches...
Coaches are one aspect...

How many boxes have been ticked by this club over the years..

Welcome to the land of the never never.. Being here where were are is like hotel California.
You can check in but you can never leave.
Am I negative?
I'll give you the current scenario later... I'm a realist!.. Idiotic people bag me in the have of the evidence...

But that's OK.
I understand people like to cling onto straws...
A moderator was suggesting I make this place negative... Without me out would be a great place.. It's people like him who even were " I am Charlie " lol

Pathetic!
Until people recognize exactly and embrace what we are were not going anywhere...

Were not just a crap team.. Were a crap club..

and you, negative? more realistic than negative, and given the club has absolutely zero to be positive about. therefore if you're anything you're realistic. haha

Exactly
I couldn't give shit whether we have pk 1 or pick 8
I want us to develop the young players we have, and smart recruiting should unearth some gems.
Whether or not we have the capability to do that is an entirely different question.

LOL... coach draft?!

@#$%&! off AFL; make it so they have to complete the course within 18-months or they're out, not this barnstorming garbage you think qualifies as policy.

Is there a code/game in the world that sets that kind of standard?!

Why Eddie really left carlton. malthouse has a few fingerprints on the real reasons.

Quote:
While Matthew Kreuzer, Lachie Henderson, Chris Judd and Bryce Gibbs all re-signed, Betts grew disenchanted with the watering-down of his onfield responsibilities under new coach Mick Malthouse.

By watering down of responsibilities, could Eddie mean Malthouses refusal to play any kind of a forwardline? Just flood the ball with everyone forward.
