Fair enough. Good to see a team with Jacsh & Jones included.
Looks good imo.

I get the feel he have added quality in the last couple years but we have lost a lot of players on the list.(7 off list & 3 rookies), not including possibly another 3 Lucas Maclean Armfield.

Plus players like Giles (injury) pick 19 & 28, Johnson & Byrne (too young fragile) aren't expected to be playing in 2015.

Our depth players are still the likes of Ellard Armfield, IMO Carrazzo even Maclean....Holman Sheehan Graham Warnock & Wood too. Not much depth really. Most will be gone in 2016.

Its the return of players in Kreuzer Walker Henderson Everitt Bell Buckley and Thomas (who came good) who are our new recruits which give us depth. Jacsh Jones and Whiley add depth but dont cover the loss of 7 and possibly 10.

We are building depth in quality in 2015, and we will be even better in 2016. I like the list.

I just wish Warnock could be a dominant ruckman he was meant to be ala Harry Madden. He's the @#$%&! wild card imo. Our Cox. Cant dominate shit because small heart big body stigma?

People need to think these @#$%&! things through carefully

I'd honestly be shocked if Curnow and Buckley weren't in the round 1 side. White vs. Jaksch is an interesting one (if the trade goes through), and I seriously doubt Jones will make the team if we have no injuries.

Left out Sheehan! Another likely candidate for the 22 on 2014 form.

And Touhy. Had a few ordinary ganes in 2014 but can play better than thet and I would like to see him get a run up the ground from time to time. He has pace, mongrel, a tank and is probably the best kick in the team with Gibbs.
BP is a place where every mistake costs a goal and he still makes a few.

Finished the season well; looked way off the pace at the start. Still doing a solid job in defence.

I hope Tuohy improves in 2015.

Wasn't impressed at all.

Didn't look fast enough for BP against smalls. Lost touch and allowed too much space for his taller opponents.

Kicked a few good goals, but also missed a couple crucial ones too

Have high hopes for him in the midfield/ wing and was tried here in the preseason by MM, but got lost and ineffective.

There's competition in the back line now and if he can secure a HB role he releases a quicker player into the midfield.

Come on Zac!

I thought he did OK, even got the ball to bounce back at him on one of his runs.
Held his own and showed potential to be a best 22 player. I think there's a few back from injury ahead of him.

Gained his pace back through the course of the season. Limited pre-season, probably didn't shed as many kilos as he needed to given the new rotations rule.

The average AFL player probably lost 4-6 kgs in preparation for last season. The ones that adapted, anyway.

Looking at our line-up, we can really do with some quality wingers in the mould of Isaac Smith and Brad Hill.

Completely agree. I think we're short of outside runners and could still use another KPP type.

I think there's about 30-31 players genuinely of AFL standard right at this point. I have:

Jaksch Jamison Buckley
Simpson Rowe Docherty
Yarran Murphy Everitt
Walker Henderson Casboult
Thomas Jones Menzel
Kruezer Gibbs Judd

Cripps Curnow Tuohy Bell

I have Carrazzo, Sheehan, Whiley, Graham, White, Johnson, Tutt, Wood & Warnock missing out and the rest of the list I don't think are either ready for AFL or are good enough any more.

To me we lack a tall forward who's ready to step in. If we don't land Jones I think there's a big hole there.
More obvious though is the lack of outside run. Not much of it in the 22, and none of it in the reserves (unless we get Tutt, or keep Lucas, and their quality is still questionable). We're gathering a good collection of ball winners and improving our skill level, but good teams will cut us up on the outside in our current setup.

Not if we've got the ball.
I'm bullish about Cripps and Whiley as extractors.
They wont be in the spotlight like Judd Murphy Gibbs Simpson Yarran

I think youve got a tall team...and I like it.
I think it can do without Jones but prefer him to start with.

We've also got White Watson and Giles to come through as back up.
Im not negative about Watson or Giles as they are developing. if fit they can contribute.

I agree about need for outside pace. We have Yarran, and was hoping Garlett would have developed his engine but...
Just one will do and should find one with pick 19 & 28...might be from the WAFL SAFL or VFL...they are out there.

Like it. Jones is no walk up start, that's for sure.

Though, Carrots and Whiley quite interchangeable with Bell and Curnow, especially if Carrots is VC again.
