Just how long will it be before we see Eddie playing in the middle for extended periods of the game instead of short bursts?

I honestly believe he could become a very hand midfielder once his aerobic capacity have improved. We've all seen how he never gives up the chase in the forward line, he gets his own ball and then weaves out of traffic to push it forward for us. His tackling is 1st rate, too.

So how many pre seasons will it take for Eddie to be playing in the middle more often than this year?

I'll say 2 solid pre seasons.

don;t know PJ but I think for a first season he wa sbloody fantastic because he has impact in games. 19 goals this year? not bad for a kid just starting out.

Oh for sure.

19 games, 19 goals, averaging a goal a game for those of you who are trying to do the math.

I know one particular person on this site who doesn't rate him because he is "slow as shit, doesn't kick bags of goals and doesn't take marks and can't crumb". Small forwards aren't meant to take marks and while his pace isn't Tambling/Davey fast, I think he is fast enough for a small forward. Certainly fast enough to give everyone else the slip out on the field.

Can't wait for the day when he rams home 8 goals. That'll be a day to remember, I reckon.

I love him, but I don't want to see him moved from the forward line just yet.

We've been screaming for a decent crumber down forward for f*cking ages, don't want to rob Peter to pay Paul just yet.

Give him the odd quarter here and there, but it's down forward where he'll make the most impact I reckon.

That's right Cammo does not rate him.

Here is a list of small forwards since 2000 who have kicked 19+ goals as a NRS qualified player.

Eddie Betts
Aaron Davey
Adam Schneider
Paul Medhurst
Shaun Burgoyne
Alan Didak
Stephen Milne

Not bad company (football-wise) he is keeping there.

Amen, brother!!!

Get him regularly front and centre at packs, or flying past ball-ins or bounces, the way Pagan had Peter Bell doing, and he could be anything

If I was in the mood I'd work out each of those player's PB goals in a game. That would be interesting, just to see how in the future, Eddie's 8 goals in a game will stack up.

Wait til the kid gets a bit of cokiness about him!

He is a very valuable prospect for us because he can do the unbelievable - ie manufacture something out of nothing.

He is an absolute freak and when he gets a bit more experience and strength about him he will be an absolute asset.

My favourite part of Eddie's game is watching him run down a player from behind...they have no idea he is coming! :-D

Nevermind his skill, nouse etc.. he also has an enthusiasm to the game that we need.

Who needs a bloke like Campo when you have a guy who is joyous at just playing the game he loves...
