....and the wankfest continues... What do the last 2 weeks tell you? Carlton has been a flaky frustrating side for as long as I can remember. this team has been flaky, frustrating and lacking 'core confidence' in its ability to stand up when the chips are down. And a lot of that comes down to getting the fundamentals right, intensity, pressure and how you compete when you don't have the footy, tackling etc.. It's also a mindset as well, having faith and belief in your teammates to be able to bounce back from lows. The players love Mick and have backed him in right from the start, the issue has development in our group both mentally and structurally with our list, but
Most importantly mentally has been the key issue. I am not sold by any stretch, one iota yet that we have really turned the corner. But I know if we play with the same desire, purpose, passion and aggression on a weekly basis and execute efficiently we will be a good side. Not great because we don't have those capabilities for now but at least the players will have more pride and esteem in themselves and supporters alike. I liked Ratts but he took us nowhere as a coach, 1 good year and one finals win. And the players didn't like or support him. The players have made it very clear that they back in Mick and believe he is the right man to lead them forward. I think the last 2 weeks could be the catalyst for s big psychological shift in our playing group and really be the making of some of our players IF we take the lessons we've learnt from these 2 weeks and make that mindset and intensity our trademark.. And leadership too, we need our leaders to stand up in the key moments and strive for excellence rather than taking the easy road........ Time will tell how we move forward from here.

is there a club that has it so wrong with player profiling ... (used to be one dimensional hbfers and now we have an overabundance of slow inside mids and not run and carry that can use the ball?
is there another club in the league that is forced to play so many struggling players because the cupboard is bare??
