One of them is the game is at a stoppage the guy next to you has the ball and of course you should tackle... another is chase and tackle.. and another is stand your ground and tackle someone coming at you hard... or running past u.
And where were marc tackles in the first few rounds as leader?

And yes we know marc given room is deadly with the ball.. and played a ripper.
But.. when i see marc running forward at a million miles an how with his hand on the ball ... i wonder why he doesnt run a million miles an hour back.

he will run someone down for a tackle.. u wont see him getting brushed off easily when he needs to stick one and he will of course also tackle the guy in a stoppage who gets the ball next t him.
He will fling himself for a smother.. and he wont lose his feet against a bigger opponent when the ball is coming in the air.. he will use his body to make contact and he will give a fair dinkum contst..every time.... thats what u do if you wanna win a flag

Its what you always do through 100 minutes of footy.

Marc wont use his body to make contact if the ball is coming in the air against bigger guys.
He wont run back to plug a hole....

Its the whole package he needds to work at and everybody needs to work at if you wanna win a flag.
You do not pick and choose what your role is.. ala chris judd.. and what u will and wont do.

Thomas comes from an environment where we laughed at ... but they won a flag.

you do not win flags.. or put yourself in a position to win flags if youre doing half the things u must do.
the game has changed so much.

Wouldnt rate Marcs game anywhere near Daisys as a complete footballer.

having said that he played a brilliant game... but needs to still work on his game as they all do.

Daisy needs to work on his kicking too.. but i have no doubt that will come pretty soon.. but his kicking will not be as elite as Marcs... but his guts will never be rivalled by Marc

marc murphy is leading our tackles with 44, almost double that of Daisy thomas.

Daisy Thomas is up there as well, with 23 - but then again Ellard also has 23 with less game time.

And as far as WHY Marc doenst run equally hard when defending?

Well he learned from the best, and no leadership strength at the club to tell him to do otherwise. (liek the cats told Abblet in 2006 and stevie Johnson etc)

Daisy is now better than JUDD or MURPHY.....please....next we will be saying Everitt is better than Gibbs.......we have lost it.

Why don't we just talk about Warnock's tap which started the ball rolling with the Buckley goal or Rowe's efforts down back or Waite, Casboult and Henderson working together up forward .... and leave cr@p discussion alone....

What Marc needs to do is make it part of his match to match staple.. not after stinging attacks on his football professionalism.

What that tells me is he is a guy that plays within himself.. happy to cruise through games.
Great sometimes and crap other times.

Just as some goals are worth more to a team than others.

But I havent seen anything special from thomas yet - although the last two weeks he has been a lot better. We may see his best next week - i hope so!

Did you notice how daisy's best two games this year were int he last week when we got the basics of the game right as a team???

Thomas is not a match winner - but fits into a game plan and structure very well. He is also a smart player, and cool under pressure - bit like Matty Laipan.

And daisy better be careful, because Dylan Buckley could take his spot in the team the way he is going about his game. Buckley will be very good for us long term.

Thomas didnt look to keen to take a shot for goal when he marked 20m out. Had to hand it off to the captain to get the job done.

I see murphy busting a gut running both ways all the time.

Thomas is our best player without the ball though. That is his game. WIth it he is ordinary. Without it he is a gun. Always in the oppositions face. Works hard to get between the ball and their goal. For that i admire him but Murphy is the gun required to cap off Thomas' without the ball work.

I am right behind the captain. We all should be. It will help build his persona and soon he will be revered and players will follow.
If we smash him for things like his haircut or every little mistake he makes there is no chance of him making a fist of leading CFC.
