Why is pushing in the back so rarely paid as in the case of Judd getting pushed when he did his hammy?

I was really proud of the boys today...they played good flowing running footy in the first half; and when the inevitable resistance increased in the second half; we gutsed it out, and didn't let them get so close that they would be inspired to try to get up and beat us.

A tragedy for Juddy and Curnow was somewhat countered by some great contributions from Murph and Gibbs and Bell and Warnock and Simmo and Waite and Walks and Scotto...and others who deserve a mention like Daisy who looks like he's turned a corner.

I'm still smiling....great stuff....

So.... how many here were hoping we'd lose??!!? Come on. Don't be shy!!! Admit it!

Very happy for the win! Now i don't have to hear those stupid knock knock owen jokes!!!

Yep, as I see it as the only way we'll wake up to what needs to be done long term. I don't want to follow a team that will be irrelevant for the next two decades. That's where we are at.

So you want us to lose? Classy.

I bet at least 90% who are on this site shouldn't be preaching to me about being 'classy'.

 especially the one who did....

Easter, preaching, wanting to lose, class. It's all in this thread, eh?

No wonder Percy's shut down. Lack of class will do that.

if we played like we did today against Melbourne and Richmond we would be 3-2

however, I think being in the position we are, allows all and sundry to really examine the reality of the players, the board and the club as a whole. I don't think our list is as bad as it has been playing the last two weeks, nor do I think its good enough to win a grand final.

I was very happy with Bell's game. Unless injury or a real continuous drop in form, should be playing every game.
I thought Warncok was super today. He smashed Minson who is a very good Ruck
Murphy was impressive, and Gibbs had a good game. Was impressed with a few efforts from Lucas as well!

Having said that, the win today means zero. We need to play with that desire and intensity every game. not after a 4 game losing streak. I will be more disappointed if we don't play next week in the same manner we did today, than if we had of lost today.

consistent effort is what I want to see

..good game from knockers, some nice taps, looking forward to crisps getting fitter cos he looks to be reading knockers very well early on.. ..knockers isn't strong but he has Fletcher like reach, some good desperate lunges that had impact, just needs to sustain the fire cos a flat ruck leeches the team spirit..

My god... You were *this* close to giving Warnock a non-backhanded compliment. Well done.

..don't get me wrong, am not anti-knockers.. ..my main issue with him has been effort, work rate.. ..I don't bag him out for not having 20 touches or 10 marks, cos I know rucks don't rack up possession like other positions.. ..a ruck is more than the tap, but it's about body work in the stoppages, it's about pushing back to help defenders, tackles, knock ons to others etc.. ..he did well in these areas which made him have more impact after the tap.. ..as I've said many times, the way a ruck plays has influence, he played with energy and that has a flow on effect..

Given Spida is a ruck, Crisps would be at least 205cm.

..I thought all our big forwards played well.. ..all three ran the miles, good strong marking options and wit all three roaming, you always have a target to kick to no matter what part of the grind you're at..
