John Kennedy senior won 3 flags within 15 years. Why hasn't someone snapped him up?
Too bad Norm Smith isn't around still. He won 6 flags. That makes him twice as good as Mick.

Obviously if someone had successful gameplans previously, it means they do now!

I would like to see Teague back at Carlton.

He did well with the Bullants and seemed to have a big influence on West Coast when they finished 3rd and 4th.

Now i believe he's at StKilda??? It'll be interesting to see how they go as i think Teague could be a decent 'development' type coach for the players.

Other than that............ Shaun Hart is doing some good things. Now at Port i believe??

So what you're telling me is they all won numerous flags with a consistent game plan that didn't vary much. Is that right?

the key to longevity with coaches is that they adapt and change their game plan...and sometimes even create the new way of playing...

Surely you don't think Mick had the same approach with the pies as he did when he coached the doggies or the eagles???

Having said that, there are some non negotiable basics to the game that span all time....

we all know what they are - they are common to all team sports..

And remember, before a coach was involved in a successful premiership, they were flag less coaches

Mick Malhouse...I just watched your "Message from the Coach".
You were embrarassing. Have a look at yourself...and I was a fan.
Youve got ground to make up. Lots of it.

Delivered like Ratten.....OMG...what have we got here.
You're not the media performer I expected. Step up would you!!!

Like Maclure said tonight on 360 Mick needs to change.
He needs to change his game plan...we all know that.
He has to change the way he performs in public when he wears the Carlton jumper.
His manners need to be fixed up..then I watch him deliver utter rubbish tonight ...stumbling and fumbling after having a night's sleep to regroup.

I'm appalled to think he's paid a million and we cant sack him coz it will cost us $2M.
OMG, I hope he improves coz he's hit rock bottom....and taken the players with him ...it seems imo

MM will not see the end of his contract. For anyone at the game on Sunday, it is clear that the playing group have not bought into his archaic game plan.

In the meantime, watch a slow moving train wreck. It is only going to get worse, much worse.

Guys, MM is not the problem here. We have a much deeper problem at Carlton than MM and his Coaching methods. It is a Cultural issue and an Issue that we had with poor recruitment in the last 10 years or so

It is just an excuse to say the Players are not playing for him....an Easy way to Blame someone so let's blame MM.

In Fact, when MM came to the club, he was deceived and tricked by our Clever Board into thinking that we are on the brink of a guaranteed top 4 and a shot at the title. MM got the shock of his life when he realized what a poor and terrible list we had that wouldn't even make the 8th.

MM did try to rectify a small bit of the List. He Brought in Doherty and Daisy for a reason. They both can use the footy well and don't turn it over like the rest do!!!

I still believe MM is the man, however I don't think he will be interested in rebuilding a Club. He is in a hurry to Win a Flag.... he has no time to spend 5-10 years at a club.... he will go sooner than later

but, McKay says they had a meeting, and the players all do buy in to the game plan.
I found that blue view thing really depressing.
Glad that McClure also finds MM an embarrassment.
He's no Madonna though. He's not up to re inventing himself or his wretched game plan.

Don't let the players off that easily,,,,(they haven't bought into a game plan since Brittain was coach - bit unfair, maybe the 2011 season was a step in the right direction. One year out of 13)

(I am sure every coach's game plan includes first class work rate and 1%ers like tackle count, chases, blocks, team sacrifices etc etc etc - youre right on that count, they haven't or don't want to buy into that aspect of the game plan)

i reckon I heard Melb players say the same thing a lot in the last decade or so.

Players don't say anything when confronted, they just complain to each other and then don't put in.

Never changes, although I think that's what Leading Teams is supposed to counter.

Yep, and Andy M looked as defeated, and uninspired a man as you'll ever see.

Andy M should support and defend the blues in the media rather than being an embarrassing EFC* and drug cheat apologist and distractor

No sympathy for this clown
