Great idea BBW, got any suggestions even just for this week???

What's your team sheet look like?

I had no idea you were waiting.

Buckley Jamison Walker
Touhy Watson Yarran
Everitt McLean Simpson
Kreuzer Henderson Thomas
Menzel Waite Garlett

R: Warnock Murphy Gibbs

I: Curnow Bell Robinson Cripps(Sub)

Appologies: Casboult, Graham, Scotland, Armfield

I suspect the MC will try blokes like Ellard (had plenty of chances), and Bootsma (no comment). Not totally against Ellard ... I just think there are too many in front of him. More than likely Scotland will play ... fair enough.

Isn't Gibbs injured? Hand? Will he be ready?

If his new contract is worthwhile, his hand might have been put through a rigorous fitness test. #badjokeday

Ken Hands will not play. Gibbs still a good chance.

Haha, quite, but I'd prefer to watch the race in front of a TV rather than general admission at the track.

I think playing Watson, Buckley, Menzel and Cripps in the first game of the year is risk taking. I would be very pleased to see this type of initiative from them. Its just ... I haven't seen much of it.

Also ... I would like to get Armfield into that side ... it looks a little bit slow. Hopefully the MC will surprise.

We can't just depend on the tactics of Dr Strangelove you know!

Selecting Bootsma would be brave.

Your team isn't at all radical or risky. Looks alright.

Too true aramari.... BBW's selections based on preseason form and what we know of injuries is a good and dare I say it fairly obvious side which I can see the MC going with.

Without being present at MC it is very hard to know the justifications for selections, and no-one is going to be truthful and say something like "we just wanted to give them 1 last run at it" etc.

Henderson HF and Casboult FF with Waite in the pocket can work well. If the big Boults endurance and kicking have improved he'll be a starter. One of the best contested marks in the comp IMO and a good get out of Jail option.

Get out of jail option comes at massive costs. Can't see us winning too many with Big Levi in the team. Would take a massive improvement from him and big tweak in the way we set up defensively to cover him. From there he would have to kick straight at the big sticks.

+1, he was shocking in that Sydney final last year. Let him earn his place, his pre-season form doesn't justify it, that's for sure.

A fit Waite and Hendo will be fine with the two rucks, Menz, Yazz, Garlett, Everitt and the mids chipping in for a few.

Never said my team was radical ... its all relative. I was bagging selections by the MC last year in that they made one dumb decision after another and refused to take risks.

Picking Bootsma would be dumb... nothing to do with being brave. The MC had a lot to answer for last year ... But there is a clean start each year for everyone ...

Go Bluebaggers.

..2 key defenders and 2 key forwards, and 2 rucks.. ..levi will get a gig if hendo is forced back, or if a ruck doesn't get up.. ..otherwise he is behind.. ..as for krooz marking better in his fort two years, having a real forward in fev taking the heat helped him rest forward and be a threat, likewise now when he plays as a resting ruck with real kpf up there he is good, last year he had his chances Bu was inaccurate..

Jeez, tough to pick the bench. Seems a lot of talls for Everitt to make it to the final team.

Looks about right. Missing Judd and Carrots from best 22 and maybe Scotland?

My guess is Holman (nice to see him considered) McInnes and Lucas to miss out. Cripps to debut as sub.

Holman, that's my boy! (He will be a Mick special by years end)

Like the balance if Hendo plays forward.

Bell and McLean need to produce.

Can see Ellard, Everitt and Menzel as the 3 interchange, sub probably Cripps.

Dylan Buckley a bit stiff after a fair pre-season. I thought he deserved a start.

Not overly surprised with Levi/Boots/Rowe out of favour.

Holman preferred to Graham interesting too. Probably academic but interesting nonetheless.

Is Scotland not fit or just no long part of the plans unless injuries hit?
