Good scratch match and chance to blow the cobwebs out for a few guys. Nice to see the young kids in Cripps, Johnson and Holman represent the club so well. Some fine efforts. Wasn't about the scoreboard...all good. Bring on the real stuff.

Do you think Cripps will play round 1?

I can already see Improvements on both ends of the ground....

In attack, the Combination of Waite/Henderson looks quite awesome, only if both of them can keep themselves on the park...

In Defense, Watson has gone up a notch plus the addition of Everett/Rowe will make it better...

However, my Serious concern is around the Midfield and our Clearance Work.... I am not sure if the boys are keeping it until the real thing, but what I have seen so far is not funny at all. We are getting Smashed ball after ball in the middle. I seriously hope Mick can find a quick Fix.....

Judd will no longer be there to get those hard balls. Others have to step up. I have one strong Suggestion: Gibbs. Play him In and under. He can find the ball and he can extract it too. He is not that bad at all. Also, give the new kid Crips a go. He also can play that role....

Mclean/Robinson and Bell are all hard nutters but for some reason, they are getting beaten easily in the centre and are exposed in Speed. They need to try harder.

The team do have a good balance of hard midfielders. They need to lift up and be ready to get dirty.

I am seriously not happy. That Sydney twit had 40+ last year and we couldn't quieten him at all. We've got to be able to get on top of these zeroes!

CARLTON 1.2 5.7 7.10 9.12 (66)
WESTERN BULLDOGS 6.4 7.6 11.8 12.11 (83)

GOALS
Carlton: Waite 3, Menzel 2, Robinson 2, Garlett, Kreuzer
Western Bulldogs: Cooney 3, Giansiracusa 3, Cordy, Campbell, Dickson, Hunter, Macrae, Stevens

BEST
Carlton: Simpson, Robinson, Curnow, Thomas, Kreuzer, Waite
Western Bulldogs: Higgins, Cooney, Macrae, Goodes, Stevens, Hunter, Giansiracusa

Those who were there feel free to disagree. Things are not looking good and we have exactly one week to fix them. We appear to have been thrashed in the centre clearances again. If we can't change that, then we are going to be very ordinary this year.

They only kicked 12 goals. So, defensively we seem to have to well.
We've gotta kick more goals.

Enter Henderson.

Clearances! Gotta get that nut and dish it to a team mate in better position.

Its a tough game AFL. Its never been so much focus on fanaticism and intensity at the man and ball.
After that bubbling repeat. Brutal.

Clearances is big bodies imo, but then you get these little freaks like Libba.
Maybe Graham is our version.

Kreuzer kicked a goal. Unscathed. Brock will come up.
Its not all doom and gloom. Just the signs thus far are not jaw dropping.

Come on Boyz.

And I reckon MM will go for something like that.
Cripps has earned a spot in our round 1 team imo.

Hendo- Waite is an awesome mobile target who can take a big pack grab on good days.

My big question mark is whether Warnock can become dominant in the 1st ruck. I'm leaning that way.
He hasnt thrilled me either.

Lets fine tune for round 1. Rubbing hands.

No doubt about it. But whoever Rowe plays on will lead the goalkicking at the conclusion of Round 1.

I still don't understand what Hughes and Ratten saw in Rowe. Out of every single draftee I can remember, he was the one who I watched his highlights and I thought what on earth? Even his pre draft highlights weren't enough to make him look any good. Wade Twomey's highlights looked better!
