Great comeback. If you disagree, come up with something other than a pathetic eye roll. This forum is for discussion.
We flicked a bloke who was good enough to pick up an AFL senior job and not only did we pay him out, we paid additionally to get in lesser quality.
If I'm wrong, debate the point. If you're not capable, why bother responding?

I've seen the way you debate in the Mick Malthouse threads, and it's like a broken record.

Lazy response.

Yes I was critical of the Malthouse appointment but once the season was underway, I focussed on the footy. I was disappointed with his attempt to transfer the Collingwood gamestyle and I stated so. To his credit he realised his error and changed tack which I gave him credit for.
If he deserves credit, I give it to him and if I believe he deserves criticism, I'll dish it out as well. No different to Ratten or Pagan.
The childish suggestions that someone is a Malthouse hater or whatever is a response from posters who dont have the intelligence to debate the point.

So I'm lazy, unintelligent and incapable?
Yet you conveniently ignored the majority of points in my post, cut and pasted the part that suited you, and called me pissweak.

This is why I skip by 99% of your posts without bothering to respond or engage in "debate".
Will continue to do so in future.

Does this mean that Ryan is being groomed to replace Sticks at the end of next year?

If he is just replacing Sticks he wouldn't need very much grooming at all.

People who have had dealings with Trainor speak very highly of him. They suggest he seems like he'd be an excellent choice as president.

Yes. Pure and simple. I've mentioned this elsewhere. The board will vote for either Ryan or Mark. Both would be good.

Either would be a very good choice.

Doc, a while ago you didn't seem to know much about Mark (not sure many of us did). Have you had a chance to get to know him (or about him) a little more since then? I would be interested in your thoughts as I still don't know much beyond the bio.

Seems to be a good operator. Mark and Ryan get along well, so I'd suggest they'd both make their cases to the board and the board will vote in a President without any in-fighting. I'm still not entirely comfortable with Mark being the clubs spokesperson on matters pertaining to responsible gaming in the community when his livelihood is paramount to the success of pokie machines. It's just not a good look for the club considering their debt reduction plan is also via the success of pokie machines. I think that could be structured and/or communicated better - but moving forward - if we were to build more of an asset base and follow more a Hawthorn model - then I'd be satisfied that LoGuidice could take the club in that direction quite well. Ryan has some good ideas and thinks big picture which I like immensely - but he could still do that as VP.

It's all good.

Very very small part of his livelihood. Significant property interests and construction company. Smart & ruthless businessman. Would be a very good choice as too would Ryan.

The goal is for it to be largely funded by Kickstarter. Tried clarifying this further with Ryan afterwards. "A full renovation" is what I was told, so I'm guessing depending on the goodwill - more than a coat of paint and a few nails.

It's more a part restoration. It's structurally sound - but it does need work and to be bereft of possum shit. I'm on Kickstarter most days and this will be a first for a sporting club in Australia - but you have to get the communication right and also make it worthwhile for the investor.

If a $20 investment will get me a photo in the Gardiner Stand with all other investors (plus team) and a $40 investment gets me a special edition Gardiner Stand polo shirt or hoodie and a $100 investment gets me the photo and a limited edition Gardiner Stand bottle of wine - what's a $500 investment get me? If it's a plaque on a seat, plus photo, plus 'Ghosts of Carlton' tour then I might not invest. I'd be wanting them to think outside the square a bit more on this one.

If I have my way - I'd rip out the seats in front of the Gardiner Stand and create a grassed area. I'd also set up plans to utilize what's underneath the Stand which is a fantastic space and make the walk between the Training Facility and the Gardiner Stand a very easy one...at the moment - it's nigh-on impossible.

...and while my suggestion of the Gardiner Stand being the location for the 2014 AGM might not get up - it has merit and is a another good reason to rip out those ugly seats in front of the Gardiner.

Grassed area in front of the Gardiner Stand is a great idea. Lets make it as attractive for families as we can.
