Heard bits of Swann on SEN thismorning - interesting to hear we'll be using '4 or 5 draft picks' on 18yo's this year - throw in a couple of rookie upgrades maybe 7 picks !

11am: Carlton CEO Greg Swann has been interviewed on Melbourne radio station SEN 1116 this morning. To summarise:

- He said Matthew Kreuzer was among 17 Blues to have minor post-season surgery, on his foot and knee. He will be fine for round one of next season.
- Dale Thomas will also be fine for round one. The free agency recruit was running before he left on holidays. He returns next week.
- He expects Josh Bootsma to be with the Blues next season.
- Carlton is in the market for one more assistant coach, but it won't be Mark Neeld.
- He's also hopeful the Blues might be able to take part in a Good Friday game from 2015 onwards.

---------------------------

I thought there would be an additional coach next year?

Swan inferred the Bootsma trade was 'just a story'.
This from a bloke who claimed it was news to him that we would sign the fitness bloke from Collingwood.
Isn't the club also on record saying we also wanted a new midfield coach recently out of the game? That was before Brown left.
Shame KB just chats with Swan as a mate because he could have asked him why Boots' manager was on radio saying the club said he could be traded for the right deal.
Just get the impression Swan treats fans with arrogance sometimes. Everyone in footy knew the fitness bloke was coming, ditto Bootsma being shopped around. Just makes the club look ridiculous by laughing it off - ''Everyone is coming to Carlton''.

He did make good points about trade week tho.

The arrogance is in Carlton's DNA, even when we're mediocre.

Yeah I thought he was being a bit disingenuous re: Bootsma.

And kenny I agree 100% on the coaching comments. I thought with Brown leaving we would be in the market for two assistats, one being the 'recently retired mid' and the other being a Brown replacement.

I wonder what photos Barker has, and of whom they are....

Yes Bassett to Essendon* is a real pain in the dot. I guess that Craig and Goodwin being there may have helped things.
