so at the moment,
shaw heads to GWS, leaving pies with money for thomas, we are out of the race.....
jessie white is heading to pies apparently, again miss out...
luke delaney is heading to the saints, again we miss out....
eddie betts is heading off to adelaide, thanks eddie...
dal santo is leaning towards the saints, again we miss out...
think you get my point, looks like no one likes the look of our club, not even dal santo!!!!!!!!!
so micky, whats up your sleeve???? didak, cross, staker??? please....
another trade/FA period were we do nothing.....
we put all our eggs into one basket and hope like hell it works out, this year its thomas....
hope we look at trading some players, its been stated before with the likes of,
ellard, robinson, curnow, cachia, bell, mclean and carrazzo all the same types, average skills and slow....
white and duigan, again lucky to be on a list..
can see it again next year, waite goes down, casboult, rowe and hampson all come in over the year,
with no impact at all..... not one would get a game at any other club, not even melbourne......
hope we add to our list, through the draft, FA and trade week...
With all due respect, what rot.
Firstly, the trade period has not even started yet. We need to be clear about what we want and what we're prepared to give in order to get it. And we need to know our best alternatives. We don't need to be basing our decisions on who likes us or not. nd we don't need to trade for the sake of it. We should only trade to make us better. Replacing plodder A with plodder B doesn't help.
Secondly, of all those you mentioned, only Daisy would be worth going hard for. And if he stays at the Pies, I'm not too fussed either b/c his high price would affect our ability to pay for others down the track, if not immediately.
And the way I think of it, if we don't get Daisy that reduces the pies chances of getting Adams (who would be a pretty good get...)
Dal Santo - seriously? Could you imagine the uproar if we went after Dal??? I'd rather give Nick Stevens a call to see if he was ready to play again!
Jesse White might be ok at the right price but I reckon Casboult will be better than White who has only shown sporadic value despite more time in the system, with the best coaches and culture and with more 'talent'.
Staker would be a role player - happy either way. Delaney won't cure our problems.
And Shaw would take us back 5yrs to the days of Fev.
Docherty would be nice but again, depends on the price.
Oh, and Eddie - most of us have said we want to get rid of one or all of the amigos. eddie has the least upside and we stand to get a 2nd round draft pick for him if he leaves + extra salary cap room. not the end of the world.
We are not a basket case. We were a couple of kicks of finishing top 6 (twice against Essendon*, 1st game against richmond, should have beaten bulldogs & saints).
Let's just see what unfolds before we hit the panic button.
