Leaves 4 draft picks, i expect at least a few players to be traded for a mixture of other players and/or draft picks.
So can players be delisted at a later date?

Only 5 senior players off the list so far.
Depending on how we structure the list nest year, we can upgrade Bell and Curnow and still have 5 draft picks (if we go to 40+4).

Nobody knows about further delistings.

So we have approx 9 players remaining from the drafts of 2008-2012 goes to show how shit our drafting/trading is.

I am including Betts in the 6.

How big can a senior list be and how does the veteran's list come in to it? We can get four juniors in before trades are factored in, after that we need to look at 'mature' players in VFL/WAFL/SANFL, etc.

If you want to get the best out of your recruiting process you need a informed and rounded committee.
Mckay, Malthouse, Rogers and his team should all have a say in the drafting of a certain player and type of player needed.
I would even include the match committee in the process, they are the ones responsible for the crucial match day selections. This to me is far more drawn out and can only lessen bad decisions made by one persons narrow view point.

but maybe the others are dumb... and the one person is clever????

More likely one hussles the blind believers.

Happens and keeps happening.

Anyone we think we might package a deal for some kind of blockbuster. whether its the number draft pick or an established elite mid?

Or will we attempt to go the patient route and draft sensibly and develop professionally?

yeah, nah ... I couldn't even keep a straight face typing that.

Mick said Kreuz & Gibbs are untouchable, does that mean everyone else is on the table? What could Yarran, Hammer and Murphy yield?

The standard senior list is 40, with a total of 44 players (senior and rookie), not including category B rookies (Irish, etc)
However the rules have changed, and are not totally clear. It seems that you may be able to have 44 senior players, although this obviously causes salary cap problems as rookies can be paid less and only half a rookie's salary counts int he cap.

The Veteran's List now has no influence on overall list numbers, it is purely about salary cap relief.

I don't think we have much to deal with especially if Kruezer & Gibbs are off the table. You would think Murphy is as well.

I can't see another club offering anything inside top 20 for Yarran, if that.

Garlett, maybe 2nd round?

Hampson 3rd round?

Lucas 3rd rounder?

Laidler 3rd-4th rounder.

I believe that's the best we could hope.

4th rounder ?

If we are lucky, i think it will be more about the club doing the right thing by him and getting him to a new club. Similar to Russell last year.

How is that lucky for Carlton?
That business with Russell last year made me want throw up.
Gifting a player early so he could get off to a good start? To Collingwood!!!
Flower me.
This is a COMPETITIVE BUSINESS!!!
I hope that they ask for something decent for Laidler and if no one comes to the party then we keep him - no harm done.

Worked out ok with Walker.

And while I'm on my soapbox let me add that I'm shocked to see people wanting to trade Lucas.

The kid just had his best season for us.

I'm over McInnes being continually brought up on this thread. He came back mid-season from a knee reco FFS. He's 21yo. Showed plenty of promise last year, and probably will next year. Would be crazy to cut or trade him.

Oh, I was under the impression that it was 38 senior players.
