 I'VE BEEN HEARING NOTHING BUT GOOD THINKS ABOUT MARC MURPHY ON T.C. BUT AT SCHOOL TODAY, MY MATE WAS TRYING TO CONVINCE ME THAT HE ISNT WORTHY OF A NO#1 PICK. MY MATE PLAYS FOR THE WESTERN JETS, AND HAS PLAYED AGAINST MURPHY. SAYS HE'S REAL FLUKEY IN PATCHES (eg possesionless till 3/4 time then got 15 touches and 4 goals in the last quarter)

I TOLD THIS GUY THAT HE WAS RUBBISH BUT HE'S GOT ME WORRIED. WILL WE GET DUDDED IF HE COMES TO US NO#1 :?: IS HE A CERTAINTY TO COME TO US?

p.s. murphy once bowled to me in year ten cricket, FAST, hit me in the head in his fourth over, got me out top edge next ball  i'm soft

Thats a bit worrying, but i'm sure from what i've read in the papers and footydraft.com that hes a genuine star with great leadership ability.

I'll take the opinions of a recruiter over some kid who has played against him.

I'd be happy if he consistently gets 15 possessions and 4 goals in the AFL

1 quarter, 15 possessions, 4 goals, imagine if he plays 4.

He cant always be best on ground for 4 quarters.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to get 15 touches and 4 goals in a qtr of footy?... No fluke let me tell ya... That's a fantastic effort in a single qtr.

Look i can tell you of a similar story about a Young Wirrupunda. My cuz used to play a little bit of footy until he decided to get an education instead and as it worked out there was a young fella by the name of "Scott" (surname ) who played in my cuz's team. Anyway he absolutely murdered Wirrupunda this day and i was there to see it.

The moral to this story Scott never played an AFL game in his life never got drafted and never looked likely too. Wirrupunda however is a star still doing it.

Bottom line to this story we all have bad days let alone bad quarters or halves, but if Murphy if flukey and can get 15 touches in one quarter i dont call this flukey i call it committment to continue to persist.

This kid saying Murphy is over rated will he be drafted ?? Probably not i'm guessing.

Well if he doesn't get the footy then we can give him the new ball from the southern end. ;)

Good point Tractor boy, I used to man up on Andrew Welsh from Ess back in high school and give him a bath. Years down the track look at him, bloody star.

p.s. used to man up on Paul Chapman aswell but he smashed every1 so i didnt feel so bad when he used to out mark me with 1 hand and kick the ball 60m when was 16.

If MM turns out to play like Goddard, if we pick him that is, then I'll be the first to call for his sacking.

Goddard = massively overrated

The Murph was pretty good against the Jets despite being knocked heavily at Oakleigh. I'm guessing this guy from the Jets wasn't playing in the U18 Champs, when Marc won the Larke Medal, against the best of the best.
He's is super talent, Brisbane weren't flying him and his parents up there just for a night out for Brown, Lethal, Voss and Power.
He's the obvious first pick but like any player at that age there is no refunds, ask StKilda and BJ or us and Livo.

Hee hee.........

i've forgotten his name........."Atkins".....a little blond
guy.....played for North Melbourne in the mid 80's......
very quick........the coach would always have me
man him up......somedays he would whip me.....other
days he would just give me a thrashing...........!

but by golly i was quick.......i was always no further
than 3 metres behind him at any given time........!

kindest regards tommi

was it Graeme Atkins........i can't remember........?

Actually the guy who set up the church in Europe had never actually met Jesus.
