I think you can turn it around quickly. 4-5 players with skill and smarts, replacing those who are lacking makes a difference.

In Graham and Menzel we have two smart and skilful footballers already. Draft and trading gets us 3 more.

Not sure Graham qualifies just yet, he's going to need a lot of conditioning work.

Once again, the message remains the same, Ellard & Duigan should be further back in the queue. particularly Ellard who was poor by anyone's standards today. I don't care how good he looks at VFL level, his game just doesn't translate.


Not having a go at him, I just think he needs to get quicker, stronger and kick it a bit further. There's not much of him at present but he seems to have good vision and composure despite that.

Lucas: Could have done himself a favour had have he been hitting the contest harder in the VFL the past couple of weeks. He didn't.

Laidler: Only just started getting some lateral movement back in recent weeks. Has been unlucky and maybe even unloved.

Buckley: If he can't find enough of the ball in the VFL, it won't come easier in the AFL. Has a big summer in front of him.
