Playing personal inhibits our style

The people responsible would inhibit any game style at this level. There's too many of them, and if it were 1 or 2 you could easily get them to change their tune.

I think you can turn it around quickly. 4-5 players with skill and smarts, replacing those who are lacking makes a difference.

In Graham and Menzel we have two smart and skilful footballers already. Draft and trading gets us 3 more.

Not sure Graham qualifies just yet, he's going to need a lot of conditioning work.

I hope we never again leave a player stranded one short of a milestone when there's nothing riding on the remaining games. (Fisher)

St Kilda showed today how important that sort of thing can be for club spirit.

Jim, I'm pretty sure that Buckley is out for the year (shoulder, I think). Can't blame the MC for that.

Just sayin'.

He did have half a year injured though.

The selection of Warnock is pretty good proof that life is not fair.

Fair enough, didn't recall his name on the injury list.

Once again, the message remains the same, Ellard & Duigan should be further back in the queue. particularly Ellard who was poor by anyone's standards today. I don't care how good he looks at VFL level, his game just doesn't translate.

Not having a go at him, I just think he needs to get quicker, stronger and kick it a bit further. There's not much of him at present but he seems to have good vision and composure despite that.

Ditto....because Karma will get the bugger who makes that kind of cruel decision...fancy stopping a loyal servant from reaching a milestone when the game doesn't count

It was always going to come back and bite him...I thought that at the time.

Not an embarrassing thread at all but a boring one. Fatalism rules Carlton. The way the club's list is at, it's like having a preference as to which serial killer you'd rather be murdered by.

Incredibly poor selections given the player pool. What on earth did Lucas, Laidler and Buckley ever do to sit behind those 3?!

Lucas: Could have done himself a favour had have he been hitting the contest harder in the VFL the past couple of weeks. He didn't.

Laidler: Only just started getting some lateral movement back in recent weeks. Has been unlucky and maybe even unloved.

Buckley: If he can't find enough of the ball in the VFL, it won't come easier in the AFL. Has a big summer in front of him.
