Big Blue Wave you are full of bias. When you make comments like malthouse drained the confidence of laidler. You might want to consider a triple injury. And don't mistake giving yarran a reality check to shake him out of 5 years of coasting, for deflating his confidence. Also if you have a problem with a defensive mindset maybe you don't like winning premierships because that is what wins them. If our players have a problem with defense then maybe the list and coaching of the previous admin is the true cause.

Problems are bigger than one man.

Need to keep getting things right off the field, build a strong coaching group and good leadership at all levels.

The days of no salary cap and brown paper bags and form fours are gone.

Carlton needs to move into the 21st century.

Throw one out there...people say MM isn't responsible for 9.22

Do keep in mind the game plan - the areas of the ground where MM wants the players to move the ball.

If we win the ball inside 50 - where are we likely to be having a lot of shots from?

Very much below return on investment from this bloke in 2013.

2014 needs to be a significant improvement. Look at where Fremantle are this year. If we aren't top 4 next year, the dollars we've invested in this bloke are heading down the crapper quite quickly.

Million dollar man needs to deliver million dollar returns, sooner rather than later.

its the machication of the club... not mm.

too many years the club is just not understanding what needs to be done...

we might be ok by 2020

Why then spend a fortune on some bloke who is too old to make an iota of difference for the next seven years?

It just bewilders me to read some oif the comments people make after a game like this one.

From where i sat we pretty much were the dominant team for the majority of the night. You don't need to look very far to find the reason for us losing and it has nothing to do with bad coaching, lack of moves, game plan etc.

We kicked 9.22 and that's where the game was lost, plain and simple. If we kick 16.15 which is just an average return we win the game almost 5 goals.

To those who would like to say its because of where we are kicking for goal from i call BS, i saw many, many easily gettable shots at goal missed tonight.

Ask Sticks ... why ask me??

one thing is for sure.. the guy before him constructed and oversaw a list over 5 years and 6 games.. that brought us to this point.

we couldnt believe our luck when davies.. duigan... bower...watson... laidler... bootsma..mckiness.... etc fell into our laps... while we busily used rookie picks to construct the midfield...

I think how inefficient we are with our spread and use of the ball in combination with this has us putting in more effort than most of the teams in the competition, and we stretch ourselves something fierce to the point of being countered horribly easily.

So with all the extra effort exerted, you can expect to see some tired kicks. When they happen a bit, confidence drops and more happen. I don't think Malthouse is to blame tactically, though our F50 set up isn't great when it comes to dealing with recycling possession as opposed to a clean counter attack. We use space well, but do not create much of it.

The transition from HB to forward of centre was deplorable for a good chunk of the night, but when you have people like Joseph and Armfield as too significant a part of the run and spread, what can you expect?

Mick doesn't hit the post from the goal square. Mick doesn't take 2 or three bounces streaming into an open goal and kick it out on the full. Mick doesn't consistently miss set shots from 30-40 metres out in front of goal. It's all between the ears with this group. Cannot remember a Carlton side being so mentally fragile or flaky. As soon as a side comes at them hard they absolutely shit themselves collectively. The 2 efforts from Robinson to give them goals in the last quarter in the space of two or three minutes were absolutely pathetic from a bloke thats played 100 odd games.

Starting to be swayed.

The non selection of garlett. Not switching Waite and hendo in the 2nd quarter. Considering what Waite did to them in the first game.. They may have had to switch Hurley out of attack.

The selection of duigan and AJ.

Not playing bell for most of the year.

Mick has another 12 months in my eyes before this silly talk should begin, but this game might be a pivotal moment in many peoples attitude to him.

Big big offseason coming. If we are quiet again in terms of trading players then things will turn pearshape for Mick very quickly

In general I get what you mean, but we missed easy easy shots last night, and plenty of them were not from the pockets. Let's face it, we had a shocking case of the yips. It became contagious, and then players didn't want to take the responsibility of kicking for goal. When that happens, you're stuffed.
