Simpson? Was struggling previously and has played his best footy in a long while this year. Been one of our best.

you mean was struggling at the start of this season, prior to that (broken jaw exempt) he was terrific. He's not used as an attacking player that he can be. Wasted

not sure how many times people have to be told that 'we' aren't Ratten lovers, has nothing to do with that at all. I'll start calling you a Mick lover though, I'm sure you won't mind.

Now we're expected to believe they don't want Mick as coach.

Who exactly is in charge here???

Why is simpson their, been one of our better players.
Robbo, c grader at best, does not run both ways, and his disposal is woeful and always has been.
Murphy, gets a tag and sooks. Does not like defending when we are not in possession.
Betts plays when he feels like it , once again when the going gets tough he goes missing.

On top of everything I've read here about Mick "destroying" players, damaging their brittle psyches and the like.

Yarran was a shite last year as he is this year (Suppercoach ratings are almost identical despite him playing sub on multiple occasions this year).

Ratten and the medics ruined Laidler.

Duigan should have been dropped half way through last year too (his rating dropped by 30% from 2011-2012).

As i said earlier, player ratings are only one consideration, but they do quantify what we saw last year (if you can turn your mind back 12 months) and confirm that your arguments are ridiculous

Yarran is a direct result of Mickey Mouse
Laidler ditto
Duigan double ditto

You could have coached Henderson and he would have given the same input (possibly more)
You could also have devised an attacking game plan (when required), you know, horses for courses type stuff (remember those days?)

I've made plenty of ridiculous arguments, which ones in particular? Ratten ruined Laidler? Thanks Doc.

Are you trying to tell us that the above 3 mentioned players were our future premiership players, and mm finished them off. Boy are we in trouble.
Yarran maybe, but he is lazy and will not get out of a jog, and the other 2. You sure your not Wayne Hughes.

After a year with Malthouse that might be your perspective but a year and a bit ago ... Laidler was considered probably our best backman and one of the best intercept players in the league. Yarran was considered a player on the way to stardom. They are unrecognizable under Malthouse.

There in lies the problem, could not get a game at the cats, and yarran on the way to stardom, potential wise yes, but he will not work hard enough and on top of that he is soft as butter.

Doesn't really matter what term you give him now ... Yarran was a much better player last year ... give me that any day to the crap he is playing now. At least he wasn't scared to take a risk like he is now. Seems to be a general theme at the CFC highlighted to the extreme by the MC. I wonder why????

Ratten was failing as a coach to take the team to the next level
Malthouse has taken the team backwards
Thats the arguement we are worse off under Malthouse than we were under Ratten
Gold Coast and Port sealed rattens fate
St Klilda and Bulldogs should have sealed Malthouses

plenty have regressed and most that have improved have been natural development eg Hendo

Most of the young kids who matter have improved, the ones that haven't weren't upto it last year either

Watson huge improvement
Hendo huge improvement
Lucas solid up lift
Garlett much better
Kruz much better

Robo backwards but it was inevitable this would happen with his poor skills

Yarran no change he was horrible last year except for first few rounds

The reason we have struggled this year is simple

Murphy injured
Judd ageing
Carazzo ageing and injured

Those three in 2011 masked all our issues

Wave a magic wand and return those 3 to 2011 form and we would easily be in the 8

Bullcrap - a good team (like say a Geelong or Sydney) would have quality depth of midfielders who could come in to play these roles and not miss a beat.

Dont blame our lack of success this year because 3 players were injured.

Wave a magic wand by all means - but wave it to have a proper depth of mid-fielders in our list.

Lets try and restrict this conversation to Malthouse and what he has done to/with the current list.

We could go round and round for hours (and indeed we already have on Ratten). We will always disagree on this point ... so lets move on.

IMO he has damaged the playing list.

I am happy to argue with my assessment of where the players are right now as I described earlier.

Ratten is gone ... its the Tricky Micky Malthouse show ... for better or worse.
