Well I was 14 back then (now I'm old...)

Went to Melbourne the Saturday night of the prelim and stayed withh my then best friend at her dads house in brunswick.

Immediately after the prelim we drove to optus to queue up for tickets - my gran and mum drove down from ballarat and arrived at about 1am and we camped out all night and got our tickets at 10.35 the next morning (meanwhile in 99 when I lived in Richardson st at the back off OO I had to sleep outside the Arts Centre)

That week was amazing.. on Monday wew went to Melbourne central where Ang and Kouta were doing a promo.. I asked to Marry me and he said yes. That night we saw Brett Ratten at La Trattoria

Tuesday and Thursday at Training - mobbing the players in teh carpark - I got my photo taken with Ang (framed for xmas that year, it has hung on my bedroom wall ever since) The fianl training session was amazing, the energy at the ground...

Friday was the grandfinal parade, once again so awesome - ang waved to me from the car :) )

Saturday up early to picnic outside the G - our seats in M5 just undercover. As the prematch entertainment started I saw all the army guys abseiling around the ground - but was still a little surprised to see one come down on top of me 15 seconds later.

The whole match was amazing -0 after Bradley got thge first goal I knew it was ours. I remember standing on th seats afterwards and signing teh song - and we are the champions, I remember traffic jams all around lygon street and scott camporeale and brad pearce signing "red wine" at optus oval...

The most wonderful week...IF I have to wait another 10 years to experience it agian then so be it...

Had a horse running in the Bush - Wangaratta actually and the trainer rated it a great winning chance. Wangaratta races this day was of course a Non Tab event.

So the dilema was go to the races and back the horse or go to the G.

The decision was made i went to the G. Just as well also because the pony rang unplaced. He did howver go on next start to run a fourth at Cranbourne and then a won at Moe.
He was our trackwork champion- had some 12 starts won 1 finished thrid 3 times and weighed in another 5. Biggest disappointment of a horse we ever had.

Just as well i was at the G i tell you and those poor Geelong people.... Oh well they have only aged now, and still with no silverware.

I was at Bathurst for the 1000km race. Watched it in a tent and thought, "Shit, this Carlton team's bloody good. I reckon I'll go for them..." and the rest is history. :-D

10 years ago I was thinking "gee, I really hope that during this coming trade week we can hang onto our young stars like Campo".

Times really have changed.
