Worrying when the Pres and the CEO have such contrasting views.

..i think McLean needs more time in the middle, he's been down on possession the last couple of games, but does use it well.. ..the 3 amigo's need to get rotated more thru the middle, i know none of them have enough fitness but you do have 3 of them.. ..give them each even a single stoppage per Q and that's an addition of attacking pace/reflexes..

..thinking i much prefer the Gibblet to be angry, i think MM needs to rile him up a little, the Gibblet has a very good technique when it comes to 'the Bump'..

Bit worried re Jamos game

I can hear you Doc Sherrin

4 marks inside 50, about two from turnovers he just couldn't stop, and blame should be laid further up the field.

1 goal 4 is not a bath if you're forcing him to scramble a shot at goal. He had two set shot misses from the remaining efforts. I would say it's an average game on one of the game's best runners.

..have said it elsewhere, but in general it's bloody hard work being a KPD for the blues most seasons.. ..just not enough consistent defensive effort from further up the ground, and too many turnovers..

true but bloody hell running rather than walking woulkd help.

In fact I am so sick of players thinking the moment had passed then the opponent fumnbles --- too late we had already given up. I I was the coach it would drive me @#$%&! mad - nothing to do with talent- everything to do with heart.

Positives;
2 Key position players forward....you ripper. Now for the resting ruckman but I digress...
Lucas, McInnes and Cachia were good. Great to see from the youngies standing up like that. Watson got better but needs more intensity and another who give up a little to easily. Is young however and must be given opportunity.
Henderson needs to play forward with Waite. Then we can really look forward to something. Like to see Rowe stay there next week as well - that would make it 3!!!!!
Negatives;
Kruezer's ruckwork really is average. He looks to me like he wants to ruck and rove or ruck for himself. Confusing but we are getting killed in clearances because of it. I just wish we play him more forward.....but I digress again...
We give up the corridor too much and teams hurt us running through there. Why aren't we guarding this area more!
We must use the outside runners more and don't be afraid to run with the ball. Too many times we kick instead of handballing to someone further in front for the run. I hope this is not a coaching directive!
We should never allow teams to drop players back and go +1 in our forward line. We lose a lot during these times. We need to man up and play accountable football at all times. That is when we are at our best.

ps. good to see others giving Lucas some credit!!!!!!

Kreuzer needs to grow a pair! Plays too nice, and really should be better then he is right now.

14 disposals, 4 marks, 33 hitouts, 1 goal (from a mark and set shot, not a gimme), 3 clearances, 3 tackles.

What else do you want from the guy... 24 possessions and a run down the wing?

2 KP forwards + ruckman only rarely. To have it more often would be going back to the thinking of old fogeys like Pagan. Especially at Etihad...need mobility.

I think if we're going to talk about disappointing aspects, the team defence failed once again. We sat further back, with midfielders starting their link up play from deeper to open up the 50, and yet with less required running to do we still tried to creep up and have players going for the highlights reel instead of marking their space/opponents and not overcommitting to the forward movement of the ball.

Forward line functioned much better with some space and the extra numbers arriving late with the ball being delivered from 10-30 m from the 50 m arc. Later on this creeping cost us some easy goals on the counter, and saw some of I50s go too close to the goal line without a clear option, leading to some goal opportunities snuffed out as rushed behinds.

It's a win and I'll take it. Even better it's against that decrepit, pissant club. Go F yourselves, St.Kilda!

Read it carefully Surrey.

How often do they actually stack the forward line.

As I said do it rarely but not longer....get smashed when it hits the ground.

Geelong go Hawkins/Pods.

Sydney we don't really know because they haven't had everyone available at once.

What do Freo do?

When Bailey goes forward Roughead goes in the ruck so there goes that one.

Nup they rarely do it. :lol:
