Prahran, Jezza, Premierships, 1980, Captaincy, Pain Killers, Alcohol Dependence, Women, Car Crashes, Court Appearances, Retirement, Regretting writing the autobiography, Addiction to Pethidine, Brisbane, Matt's death, Kate Kendall...and it wouldn't be a proper interview without asking about the potential father-son chances of his son Darcy who is 4.

Question is....how long is the interview?!

FoxFooty says 30 minutes.

I'm glad he wrote his book, was one of the more honest ones

Blew me away. Read it as a naive star struck 16 year old, who had no understanding of the outside world and put all sportsmen on pedestals. Was certainly an eye opener.

Bought a signed second copy many years later from a second hand book store for 50c. :thumbsup:

A pleasure to watch a guy who never left anything on the field....................except the odd opponent.

Bloody hell. I wish we had a player now with even half the ability to stand up and be counted when the game is in the balance.

- Four time premiership player;
- Probably should have won 2 Norm Smith Medals;
- Two best and fairests;
- Played over 200 games;
- Played for Victoria; and
- In Carlton's team of the century.

How he is not in the Hall of Fame? An oversight if ever I saw one.

Your lucky, I began doing the video stuff again last night after a two week break. Should also note that Open Mike (as well as On the Couch, After the Bounce and League teams) are part of any News + online subcription too (4.50 a week though).

Should have won the Norm Smith in 82. Clearly the best player on the ground.

QFT. Not just his ability, but his attitude of never say die and his willingness to be hard at the the man and the ball regardless of the consequences.

I loved him as a player and we haven't had someone of his calibre since.

Saw the Dominator play many times and probably had forgotten how good he was especially , as has been mentioned , in big games or when someone had to do something special to win the game.

I also ran into him at the Riva Bar on a Sunday 4 or 5 years ago after what he said had been a big Saturday night and thinking how tragic it was he was looking like he did ...... but after hearing him talk about what he had been through with losing his son and the circumstances surrounding it l won't ever be as quick to judge anybody again ..... well played champion.

I've loved all the interviews. This really is Mike Sheahan at his best. I do wish they were a bit longer.

Mike is a damn fine interviewer. Lets his subjects talk and gets the important questions out without being cloying nor awkward.
