I thought it could be a good opportunity this weekend to give others a go because GWS were lacking ruckmen and with Setanta out we had nothing to lose.

I didn't know Brogan was coming back.

Still, he's no real threat.

Not sure where you stand with the one ruckman model.

What do you think about having only one ruckman in a GF against WCE's Cox and NicNat?
If you think one ruckman is the way to go against these two superbly fit mobile and strong combo, which of our ruckmen would you go with?...and who would be his back up?

Last time we were due to play the WCE in a final, Hammer was supposed to be the second ruck in that game but hurt his ankle the day before.

MM has tried 3 rucks, 2 rucks and now 1 ruck and a forward.

I don't think there's any chance of him playing just one ruck if we are ever faced with a team that goes in with two good ruckmen. But if they have one good and a spud or two spuds, then maybe.

I admired his endeavour.

He had to ruck on his own when fit because his lieutenants were....McLaren, Ackland, Cloke....say no more.

I'm not a fan of one ruck in any important games or against good opposition.
Lose your one and only ruck and then the opposition dominate the game.

GWS is almost a trial game....we need to ensure all the boys take the game serious.

Anything less than an 80 point win will be disappointing imo.
I'd prefer 100 margin like other scum teams achieved against the GWS this year.
They are weaker now than they were at any time this year.
If we don't thrash them it says alot about our players selected, their effort, commitment and the coaches: all of them.

Perfect changes in consideration.

Maybe Menzel may come in of McLean doesn't come up.

I won't go too far on this just yet but Casboult seems to have learnt a lot in his ruck work, this year to date.

O.K. maybe we haven't got two ruckmen and Casboult doesn't anywhere near cover for Warnocks work, but he's doing surprisingly well.
Hope that continues.

So Doc, you're about 9, 10 or 11 yo. Your astute posts make you sound more mature than that

Cha, cha, changes.....think there may be 1 or 2. You may get your wish (& probably those of quite a few others).

Also pleased to see Casboult get another go. Love to see him kick 3 or 4. Showed some great signs last year and in pre-season. Not so much at the start of the season.

B: Tuohy Jamison White
HB: Walker Henderson Gibbs

Foll: Kruezer Judd Curnow
C: Scotland McLean Bootsma

HF: Yarran Casboult Armfield
F: Garlett Waite Murphy

Int: Robinson Cachia Bell (Simpson)

IMO our best balanced line up this year! It's now about attitude.

One ruck supported by a forward/ruck. Kruezer will dominate being No.1 and doing 80% of game time on ball. That is his best spot by a mile.

Better balanced and skilful forward structure that should be very good defensively.

Back 6 plus 1 is really starting to look solid and with Walker/Gibbs can provide some real drive. Still the option of Yarran to drop back at times releasing Gibbs onto ball.

Really like to see Bootsma play a full game on a wing pushing forward/back.

Only issue I have is with leg speed through the middle and we don't even have Ellard and Carrazzo available. Lot of similarity and lack of genuine A grade class. With Menzel, Buckley, Graham coming through and Lucas & Betts to come back that will hopefully change.

Blues by 88.

I agree about Kreuze, psych. Looking forward to him showing Sheeds what they couldn't snag.
