Games gone soft.

2-3yrs ago even we'd be applauding a solid bump.

Betts never did anything wrong in the past.

He's a small bloke and the collission was accidental.

Sylvia is a serial offender and deliberately struck and got 3....precedence.

FMD!

Challenge the fools

challenge it...... and end up with 5 weeks

enough silliness

If its challenged and lost its 4 weeks.

Still I agree it would be silly to contest it.

5 weeks harsh.
4 minus discount maybe.
3 minus discount would be closer to fair IMO.

At least if it it was the tiprat Milne, Eddie could have asked the old timer in the Longest Yard if it was worth it and got an additional 10 years to life, we would all day happy, and would be worth every second.

Can see the case for shoulder to jaw based on this screen grab. And I understand the way the activation points work, but every now and then a result gets spat out that doesn't really sit right. I think this is one example of such.

What's worse is, there's 8.55 to go in the third and we haven't even scored 30 points.

One thing is for sure Lucas will never break a jaw....,

Three weeks is what I feared for Eddie.... Too bad

You really are bordering on pathological if you have to hijack this thread to stick the knife into Lucas again. :garthp: :garthp:

Take the 3.

LOL at those saying it's shoulder to shoulder. It clearly isn't if he has a broken jaw....unless....

The jaw bones connected to the...shoulder bone....

once again the MRP focus on the outcome and not the event.

yes you cant leave the ground and bump someone, but what would the result have been if Eddie broke his jaw and the kid got up?... ??

I'm at a loss to see how this is different in 'intent and impact terms' to Thomas earlier this year...he jumped off the ground and sure it was a head clash but is Eddie any different? IMO they are the same intent and event....its just the outcome is different.

not arguing that intent was there and the rules are clear.... and Eddie is wrong... but i again see we are all at the mercy of MRP Lotto

It appeared on last nights replay that it was primarily shoulder on shoulder with Eddies head then hitting the shitkilder players Jaw and snapping it in 43 places.

I would definitely challenge this. Pretty harsh penalty for someone with a clean record.

Cmon guy has a broke jaw indiscriminate brutal act off the play - take the 3 and move on - symptomatic of our team - cheap shots/hits like the Waite one but when it comes to putting head over the ball against stkilda and showing some real guts our team squibs it

WAITE AND BETTS lost to injury early part of the season and then lost to the team for a further time due to suspension dumb selfish cheap and nasty football

If one of the aints did the same and broke cachias jaw you all would be calling for his blood

The fact that it was slightly late (as is the case for most bumps) and that his feet were off the ground, is what impressed me most.. awesome bump, would love to see a few more of our players doing the same thing regardless of the likely suspension. after braking an opposition Jaw every week, at least the next time you play against them they'll be second guessing their safety each time there's a contest :smoking: :smoking:

The dumb thing about Waites suspension is that it was neither here nor there.. not even a bruise.. just a sissy glance of the head with as much force as a meaningful kiss.

of course you would, its like applauding a goal from your own and disputing the legitimacy of a goal from the opposition.
