It might be worth getting Fev involved in the membership campaign somehow.

He's still the biggest Carlton name of the last 10 years and, although I used to cringe when Carlton would come out saying "we signed Fev because of all those kids out there with the number 25 on their jumpers" , i think its probably time to bring him back into the fold somehow for just that reason.

I think you'll find Juddy has been a little more popular.

I also think you'll find we didn't lose that many members. Anyway...it's been 4 years. Time to let go of Fevola. Brendan's doing his thing and that's great and the club has moved forward from him and that's great too. There's not a snowball's chance in hell that he will be involved in anything to do with the membership - even if it's something clever - I doubt memberships would rise on the back of it.

I'm satisfied with the current membership number. What I'm not happy about was the crowd. 35,286 to a home game? That ain't great.

On The Blueprint today they mentioned a 3 game Blockbuster membership available for $150 for the Hawforn, Filth and Scum home games. Haven't heard about this before.

Things to be learnt.

1. Have the biggest supporter base.
2. Win a premiership.
3. Allow pets to be counted as members.

Did anyone else see the Blue Print advertising a 3 game "Blockbuster membership"?

IIRC for $150 you get reserved seats to the upcoming games against Essendon*, Hawthorn and Collingwood.

Can't help but shake the feeling that they've only just come up with that. But on the other hand, maybe it's been there the whole time and never really publicised (and no doubt the fault of the supporters for not looking into it themselves).

- Where can I find out more info about it?? There's nothing on the website. ("use the phone" I hear you say, but you'd think this would be worth something on the homepage if it's something they really want to promote)
- Where do I sign up?? (again, nothing on website)
- What does it get you? Entry only? Scarf/Cap/Lanyard etc?
- How does it compare to booking a ticket now? A quick look at ticketek reveals that a premium reserved seat costs $48 for Joe Bloggs, so where's the extra value?

Seriously, this is a great initiative by the club, but if they want these things to work they really need to spell out everything and give as much info as possible, not leave supporters to do the hunting themselves and sit back wondering "why aren't these pricks buying memberships???".

Yet 4 years ago they had 46,000. A huge increase in a pretty short time.

I'm guessing that there'd be quite a few waiting to see if we're finals bound before signing up and as of round 7 there's no indication that we are.
