Even if Jamo is a withdrawl, I'd be happy to replace him with a midfielder like Bell or Ellard. Dees aren't tall at all up forward, White and Hendo would be enough height to have them covered reasonably comfortably.

Touhy to Sylvia.
Hopefully Walker and Howe spend the arvo trying to take screamers on each other.

I agree.

Two talls (Hendo and White) would be plenty down back if Jamo didn't come up.

Ellard, Cachia or Bell. Obviously aiming for some meat in the middle.

Obviously they havent lined up that way for 30 years, but someone must be having a good laugh naming Armfield at CHB each week.

I think that's the 4th or 5th time he's been named at CHB?

Funny, my brother's got the newspaper from that day when man landed on the moon in 1969, which was, of course, the front page headline. The headline on the back page read, 'Crosswell named on half forward flank'. Ah, the good old days.

My starting lineup tip for a dry, sunny day on Sunday:

Walker Jamison Henderson
Tuohy White Scotland
Lucas Armfield Simpson
Judd Hampson Garlett
Betts Waite Yarran

Warnock Murphy Carrazzo

Bench: McLean, Robinson, Curnow. Sub: Cachia

Ellard must feel robbed with those ahead of him playing okay (Curnow) to fantastic footy (McLean)

Out: Rowe, Gibbs.

If I were to bring Bell in, it would be at the expense of Robinson if Robbo couldn't play for some reason. Thought Robinson for all his foibles had a very solid game last week.

This week Sylvia is named at CHF so probably reasonable for Armfield to be named as his man. I think Army can destroy that matchup.

I wouldn't want to be a Melbourne midfielder if Cachia, Bell and Robinson starting the centre square.

Doubt that all will be selected but I'd love to see Robinson, Bell and Cachia in at a centre bounce together. Maybe wait until Kreuzer is back and do it against GWS, it'd be brutal.

That's good , but can't we bring Lucas into the discussion somehow anyway?

Gawn is taller than Warnock at 208cm...he has looked ok at full forward this season.

Hope our players show more respect to the opposition than some posters are. We'll be in trouble if they don't.

The inclusion of players from the VFL (hungry for an opportunity) is likely to avert any complacency. I think this is going to end in big big win... fingers crossed that ends up being the case

Jesus christ...how does Hampson continue to get a game?

If I showed up to work each time and offered nothing, I'd be out the door quick smart. This bloke looks to have the game mastered - get by on doing bugger all, while earning good money.

How the other half live......

Rowe has one quiet game and likely goes out, a leading goal kicker in the SANFL in 2011....Hampson continually proves to be a liability week in, week out and is persisted with.

Absolute madness.

I suppose at least the on-field comedy routine of Melbourne footy club will be complemented by the comedy routine of Shaun Hampson.

/RANT.

This is a very good point.

Over the past 5 and a bit years of Ratten's coaching we have not won more than 4 games in a row (ever) and we have always been suspect in games we should win, and all the "so so" teams have known if they were having a shit year they were always a chance against us if they set themselves and threw the kitchen sink at us.

We need to win this game and win it well, controlling it from start to finish.

Agree, just think back to last year and the Gold Coast.

We're not exactly known for our killer instinct when facing inferior opposition. I'm expecting them to build an early lead and then go into cruise control. Hope I'm wrong.
