Very disappointed with this announcement other than the long term list management strategy and youth policy.

We need assistant coaches that can teach players skills, and assist in developing weaknesses into strengths.

We let Carey go to the filth - he would have been that extra assistant we're after and then could've chased a ruck coach like Rehn.

Poor decision making by board, IMHO. And I don't want to hear that we are cash strapped, cause you cut football department costs, you further lose an element of competitive edge that other clubs already have over us.

I might crap on about the Club being more positive in every aspect, but if they wanted another bloody assistant and another bloody ruck coach then why did they not chase after bloody Rehn who would of done both roles and saved us money also. Bloody hell!!

Let's swap the roles. The Current board members will become football assistants and trout, libba, mitchell, et al can take on board responsibilities.

Seriously there is no process in place to fast track the development of the younger players.

Do we know they didn't try to recruit Rehn and he knocked us back for Brisbane?

If I had choice's and one club's president was continually whining about money and being broke I know thats not going to be my choice.

Well I think it is disgusting.

Bring back Braddles I say.

Make him Captain-coach......would save us lots of money.

Braddles must only be a few years over 40, surely he's got another 2 good year's left in him?

At least he was part of our premiership team.......gee I miss Sticks, Ratten, Diesel in the middle.....ahh, bring back '95 pleeease!

The only way we can compete in these silly draft & salary cap times is to cut costs.

Braddles for Captain-Coach!

I was dissapointed we didnt make some changes and seem to be off the pace a bit with ex players like Carey and Rehn.
While I have never been a fan of Micthells he did get the Bullants to perform and justify retaining him but Libba must be thinking he is lucky..didnt expect Trout to go as he is part of the Pagan package...

It smells like they cant make the important changes to me... when it comes to the crunch.....

Here is a club that is totally clueless about what it must do to go forward....

I hope im wrong but the way things are going right now.. i doubt it...

Pretty simple really, if a coach with the standing of Pagan says he wants them they stay. When we've invested in him for the long haul, it's not advantageous to undermine his coaching panel.

Anyway, no point making to many changes, Vossy isn't available to at least 2007.

Its not simple.....
We have to change our players every year to improve so we should ahve to make changes wherever to improve./. including board and coaching staff right down to the staff....

You need fresh blood.

You cannot keep a bunch of failures around the club because the coach is comfortable....

The coach is a grown man and should not need a safety net around him..... they all get too comfortable with each other and that is to the clubs detriment.

Bring on Peter Dean...and a paid role for Carey.

Don't have a problem with either and agree that this could be
a) inability to change
or b) Pagan having made it clear what he thinks needs to happen and the board allowing for it...
hope it's the latter and that it works!!!

BUT hey, I know nothing about it and this is the BOARD's job
