After seeing Reserves today here's what I would do:

B: Tuohy Jamison Laidler
HB: Gibbs White Walker

Foll: Warnock Judd Murphy
C: Yarran Carrazzo Lucas

HF: Garlett Henderson Menzel
F: Betts Casboult Waite

Int from: Scotland Armfield McLean Ellard Robinson Simpson ?? I don't know who to drop :yikes:

Talk today is that Jamison & Gibbs are fine.
Casboult although not dominating is a better forward than Hampson and rucked well.
Waite looked fit so play him. Sitting in the VFL serves no benefit
Menzel has the skills and worked hard. Get him in.
Ellard a vital addition
Laidler is needed, especially his ball use
I'd like to play Bell as well.

Not for what I'm hearing.

Jamison is touch and go and Gibbs looks somewhat unlikely.

Menzel cant play out a game.. he hasnt had a pre season... and playing him from the bench wont help his fitness.
We will need him in the second half.. so lets get him properly fit before we start using him on the bench...

I think adding an extra tall to the forward line is not needed. We will lose a lot of run with that lineup and we cannot run out a whole game. Waite and Menzal were spent at 3 quarter time today.

B: Tuohy Jamison Scotland
HB: Gibbs Henda Walker

Foll: Warnock Judd Murphy
C: Simpson Carrazzo Lucas

HF: Garlett Waite Robinson
F: Mclean Casboult Yaz

Rucks :- Warnock Judd Murphy

Int from: Armfield Betts Curnow White

In Waite Casboult Out Hampson Rowe

easily resolved by deduction, you cant drop scottland, armfield, or mclean unless purpose is to rest them, they've all been playing well. Simmo and robbo would be right up there for clangers and bombs to on one in particular at the mo, but id rather drop Lucas than robbo.. I dont mind dropping simmo .

Bit tough on Rowe, he had a poor game but had been solid prior.

Don't think they'll drop him this week, unless they bring in Waite, but i have a feeling (based on Maclures comments on Blueprint) they plan to play Waite in the Back-line perhaps releasing Henderson to go forward.

Had a good 1st quarter, but seriously dropped away. Seemed knackered. Think he might need a rest.

What sort of a half baked, soft cock effort is that?

You don't rate him. You've spent the equivalent of an academic essay telling us such, yet you come up with the equivalent of giving him one more chance.

Stick to your guns. It can only add to your crediibilty.

And don't give us this bullshit that MM has no one else to replace him with. If MM thinks he's not pulling his weight, he'll drop him.

IMHO, he's been one of MM's successes this year (and believe me, I'm not a glass half full person when it comes to Carlton)

Out: Hampson (omit) White (omit) Gibbs Jamo (if injured)
In: Mitchell (just give him a go at senior level), Laidler, Ellard/White or Watson (for Jamo)
One more chance for Rowe...Spend all week on ruck practice

An interesting week for selection., Hampson has probably played his way out of the side at the moment, I'd replace him with Casboult. he can do both the ruck and forward roles whereas none of the other options do. In any event I don't believe the other options are showing much at the moment. Others who might be at some risk of demotion are:

Simpson, but he improved the last 2 weeks;
Rowe, but he has hitherto been solid and may be needed for his height and versatility especially if both Kreuser and Hampson are out;
Robinson, but his attack on the ball is inspirational;
White, but his height and versatility are needed;
Lucas, he has been improving steadily but still burns us too often with turnovers; and
Curnow, whose defensive work has been great but is a worry with the ball in hand.

Possible others to come in are:
Waite, but probably needs another week or two in VFL;
Ellard, who has been a cut above in the VFL and deserves a run at some stage soon;
Bell, who has been very good in the VFL and gives a real physical edge, but may need to continue to work on his strategic understanding at VFL level before returning to the firsts;
Cachia, who has been reasonably handy in the 2s but would need an elevation;
Laidler - like Duigan seems of the boil and out of favour, either would be selected on past performances rather than recent form;
Menzel, who still needs more fitness base and to really dominate some VFL games before he could warrant a spot in the 1s; and
Buckley, but still only showing glimpses.

All in all for me it would be Hammer and Curnow out and Casboult and Ellard in, with Bell for Gibbs if injured and I really don't know who for Jamison if he is injured - there is no-one there to take his spot but I guess you'd throw an undeserved chance the way of Watson simply as the only KD option out there (the others either not being KP - eg Bootsma, Duigan, Laidler - not defenders eg Mitchell or even less deserving of a shot than Watson - eg McCarthy). Perhaps bring in a tall forward and shift Rowe back?

One things for sure, MM certainly hasn't been fearful of displacing some of the players previously considered un-displacable, in an effort to find the right balance. Love watching it unfold week by week

Endurance is probably the main issue at this stage but he threw himself around. Has has a year under his belt at senior footy and just seems to be able to step up. Big call but he is a special talent, we are playing Melbourne, give him a crack. He wont disappoint.

Plus Menzel and the 3 amigos!!! Who needs talls. :yikes:
