Appears to have MM support. Probably all that matters at this point.

Didaks limitation is time.
He has MMs support cos who do u suggest comes in as another wingman/runner from the ressies...??
Ellard/ Laidler/Bootsma/Davies/Duigan/Cachia/Watson/Joseph/Bell/Buckley/Waite/McCarthy/Casboult/Mitchell or Graham???
Id say Malthouses hands are tied.. and i would think hes rolling his eyes around in his head every time he passes by Hughes....

Lucas has too much going against him.
Soft, cant kick, cant tackle and has terrible smarts.
He can run and has endurance... ts the only reason hes in ...
Cos if youre looking in the reserves... the Bullants midfield is Markon / Lambert/Cachia etc. With Ellard.. who actually idnt spend alot of time there.

What IS in our reserves is a bunch of half back flanker types... and we dont need them atm..

Laidler
Duigan
Dale played there last week.
Bootsma
McArthy
Watto
Joseph joins their bulging ranks this week.
McIness is out with a knee

Its why Lucas is in the side...!!!
Yarran is in the side because he is electric.. its why you shouldnt point to stats at every chance

And you shouldn't write off players as easily as you do. And yet you continue to do so. Lucas will continue to improve under MM and I have little doubt will be 150+ game player so you might have to get use to him. I know you are just after a whipping boy for 2013.

I have no idea what the list of HBF's and VFL onballers has to do with Lucas.

Regards Cazzesman

Lucas is a fourth year player picked in the mid first round Mr Cazz
And yet his deficiencies are glaring.

The only way he will play 150 games is if we continue drafting hbfer types who are kicking dew off the grass at Cramer street.
Thats what he has to do with it all.. if we didnt have a team of hbfers in the ressies and we had been taking mids.. wed have an option to leave out Lucas atm... but if you go along to the reserves... youd find Preston players dominating the midfield in our reserves.
And cos we dont have options... Lucas stays....
Thats how Lucas is linked with our overabundance of average hbfers in the ressies.... its a very clear line... !!(I thought it was obvious)
Lucas would struggle to make the side in any of the other teams in the eight...

Lucas 2013 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lucas 2010-2012
That's what's glaring Synbad
You of all people should know why - you've told us about it ad nauseum for the last few years (and I have totally agreed with you on it)

I reckon Lucas is still pants... and he didnt play games in the previous 3 years...

His problem is he is mentally soft.. and doesnt work hard enough on his skills or on his physical side.

And if Lucas needs to defend himself from on line keyboard heroes he can start getting fair dinkum about his football...
Its the only way he can really do it... Getting Mr Cazz to come in and do it is more of the soft attitude this club has had for far too long....!!

Its about time from the president down the ine to the recruiters and players.. people start becoming accountable!!!... weve been average for far too long without this remaining our status quo...for any longer...!!!

Ah, it's the whole thing, sorry just looked at Lucas' game in yesterdays game, because that's the thread I'm in.

Forgot about the "special needs" allowance you get to hijack every thread.

Agree, thought White looked quite solid. Streets ahead of Davies.

I'm streets ahead of Davies

FFS can we discuss Kane Lucas in the Kane Lucas thread? Unless it's specifically related to yesterdays game?
I'm in the "R5: Carlton v Adelaide (Post Match Discussion)" thread because I want to read peoples opinions on R5: Carlton v Adelaide.
If I wanted to sift through pages upon pages of repeating the same points in regards to Kane Lucas' career and development etc I would go to the Kane Lucas thread and bore myself to death

Answer that as a yes or no please...!!!

No. I would like him to be in Brownlow medal form but alas like many other 21yr olds in the AFL who have played just 23 games he is just off the pace at the moment. As someone else posted 2013 form>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2012 form. You seem to be the only one who can't see that.

As for Watson he is chugging along in the VFL like many 20 yr old KPP players at the start of their 3rd year at an AFL club. Correct me if I am wrong but didn't you write off Hawkins after 4 yrs. You should learn from your predictions.

Should we expect more than we got on the weekend from Kane Sugar Lucas?

Not a fan of a kid that's played 22 games?

No Einstein required to evaluate the Pros and Cons but being that he have plenty of pros in his game, just maybe MM is backing himself to iron out some of the cons.

Why expect every player to be a kamikaze when that's just not possible. As long as Lucas plays his role and develops under a watchful eye, I'm more than happy.

Yeah, I thought the same at one stage until the runs started to pile up on the board.

Synbad swings the bat pretty hard but damn him as he gets a lot right along the way. Not to be discounted.

If the kid is in his second year.. i don t have a problem.
forget about 22 games.. hes been in a sporting club environment for 4 years.. and hes average... !!!... the type of player you cant play finals footy using...

Sure we can wait till year 5 or 6.. or until hes copped a Russell!!!...but thats not how flags are won are they???

Good teams dont baby players for 4 or 5 years....
WTF do YOU thnk this????..... !!!... do you have any idea what good clubs do with players.. What Lucas is doing would be ok if he was a 4th rounder..cos he will play his 25 games and be delisted(rougly 25% of games) ... not good enough!!!

Lucas if you read this.. pull the flower finger out!!!

Genuine question Cazz!

I saw bugger all of Lucas as a kid, what was his defensive work and decision making like? The tough thing to assess without having seen them as kids is it just a confidence and development issue or was it something he has always struggled with? Otherwise I am very happy with his improvement this year.

As for Watson, not concerned he will be fine as will McCarthy & Mitchell. Today I saw some marked improvement in all of them compared to last year.

Lucas couldn't get onto the park for half of his first 3 years with serious hamstring injuries

I think he's been way more than servicible this year so far, only thing that will stop him from getting even better is another serious injury.
