Still had trouble defending the kick in

I think they had a few Coast to Coast goals as per last week

Didn't see the game, where did Gibbs play?

Hampson is an '88 baby...taken in November 2006...he was 18 like the others. Tippett is a year older and had a similar background but played basketball. I'm not sure if we blame individual, recruiter or development. But I do know that Shaun Hampson shouldn't be on an AFL list. A bit like James Sellar taken three picks earlier.

Win is a win, but should have won by 10 goals
Hampson, time for a spell
Rowe, 1 or 2 more games to deliver more
Lucas, needs to lay more tackles, will get better
Simpson, needs to shave the beard and get back some form ASAP
Warnock, learn to mark the footy please
Waite/menzel, please play some good footy, look forward to watching you
Rip it up!!
Might be time for Mitchell to show he's worth!!
We go form 0-3 to (should) 7-3, how footy can be so easy at times he he

The defense looked shaky again when Gibbs went off. He was quite clever in the first half working the angles and using his hard defensive running. Hope his hammy is not too bad.

Still a few players not quite there. Hopefully Malthouse can iron that out.

The Crows have a super lazy midfield. Dangerfield, Sloan and Thompson were terrible with their defensive running and made life easy for out attacking players.

Kreuzer is not a forward, never will be. Already sc rewed around with trying one ruckman up forward. It' rarely works. Best results will come from Waite and Casboult. We looked lot better up forward last year when those two were playing together (Gold Coast disaster not withstanding, even then they combined for 2.10...eek). Straightened us up going forward.

Really like to see Casboult, Henderson & Waite as our forwards. Please!

I strongly believe Kreuzer can adapt to many KP roles.
there's 4 KP Positions but the umpteen roles they can play.

I really like the prospect Cas Hendo Wait fwd line. filthy in a good way.

Kruezer is a ruckman and a ruckman only. Our best side will come with ONE of Warnock or Kruezer as our ruck. If we had a half decent key forward playing we wouldn't even be having these discussions.

The positioning, leading and awareness today of Hampson and Rowe was embarrassing. Like watching under 15s. Makes it so hard for others to deliver the ball. Confusing.

Don't you know anything. According to some strategic boffins on this site, they were instructed to stand like statues in the hotspot, abstain from leading and not give a flying flower about anything around them cos Garlett, Betts and Yarran would clean up.
Can't believe how many on this site have made the same observations as you Psych. Go back a couple of pages. It will all be explained for those too slow on the uptake.

Started at 17 as part of Qld athletic squad.

If he had been played and practiced as a pure ruckman he would of been a much better player. Being trained to be a forward has killed any chance he had of making it.

And our kick ins were pretty shite as well. How many times do we just bomb it to 2 vs 1, HOPING, just HOPING it would be marked or swooped on?
Must improve that area as well

He's good enough to be on a list....as a ruckman. Right now we'll stuff him completely trying to make him a key forward as North did with David Hale, and he ended traded to Hawthorn, where he now plays some decent footy in the ruck. Problem is for Hampson is we have a few ruckmen. He won't be first ruck ahead of Kreuzer or Warnock.

Like that. Just need someone to play CHB. That'd be Rowe or Watson I suppose.

McCarthy is a real option or even play Jamo, White & Laidler as talls.

Sick of nombing the ball long to nothing. We've got a whole bunch of tall forwards Hammer, Levi, Mitchell, Rowe, Waite. Problem is, apart from Waite, the rest are not up to it at AFL level.
Haven't had a proper key forward since Fev.
Recruiters take note!!!!
Robbo and Lucas are turnover kings and extremely frustrating to watch.

Why the mass distaste for Lucas?? He isn't the perfect footballer, particularly regarding the physical elements of the game.

But he is fit, can, run, is fast, can mark, kick a goal, and is still young. And he had stunted development under Ratten.

I know everyone wants instant gratification but he is on the improve, is playing reasonably well and should be left to develop until he has such a howler a la Hampson that it can be said, enough.

We do have key forwards but they are either injured or young. There is some real talent in Casboult & Mitchell but they need patience. Henderson could be a star forward but is needed down back whilst our key defenders a go.

It will soon be time to try some of theses kids. We have to.

Venice to get a gun forward over summer though!

Meanwhile the Eagles are 2pts up after leading by 41pts in the third.

Doggies coming home against the cats.

Maybe our effort to hold off a urging Crows wasn't so bad.

Does the guy watch the games??.... Fyffe is a star!!!... Lucas is a problem !!!
There is a 50/50 chance each time Lucas touches the ball or is in the play that something bad is going to happen.... you can go back as far as the Kreuzer knee re-co...
How do we draft a player that early who cannot kick???

Agreed. It's so frustrating.
Robbo is in the same boat.
Gets the ball and either gets it smothered or bombs it to nobody.

Can't understand how Wayne Hughes has survived so long at our club. His success rate with his picks ( besides the No 1s) has been disastrous and set us back years.

Went out and had a look at the game tonight. I am far from disappointed. It's no point being critical of what we did or did not do. I always thought the idea was to win the game and thats what we did. We were challenged in the last quarter and withstood that and won quite well in the end. I naturally expect us to improve over the course of the season but we could have been 0 and 5 instead of 2 and 3.

This. Seems that putting teams to the sword after getting a big first half lead is harder than it used to be, plenty of big comebacks this year already.
