Kev, has anyone suggested dropping 6 players? No. People are throwing out suggestions of who could make way for any players demanding a spot. The only player I really think deserves to be dropped is Joseph, but if we can field a better team by bringing in players who will perform better than someone already in the team, then we should do it, even if they didn't have a terrible game. I see those possible selections as

- an automatic selections returning from injury (ie eddie)
- a player whose reserves form suggests their output will be better than someone currently in the team (possibly ellard)
- or someone who can play a particular role against a certain side (ie bell)

Can't be complacent. If the side can be improved the changes should happen

At long last MM tried something a bit different ... very pleased to see ... and hope it continues in this game.

There should be no excuse if we get beaten.

There are several players at the club who imo are bit players ... who have been tried over and over again and really won't be long term players at the club. I guess some of these players deserve one last chance. I am talking about ... Ellard, Joseph(maybe a little harsh) and Davies. Give them one last chance ... if they can't establish themselves then we need to move the focus to other prospects.

I really believe Bell is a player of the future ... would like to see him come back in against Adelaide. I would be very keen to get Laidler back in defense ... he can play short or tall ... and needs opportunity. We all saw what he could do last year.

Assuming Betts is unavailable i'd only swap ellard for Joseph.

Army on danger, curnow on Sloane and carrots on Thompson and we should get the job done!

Ellard as sub. Has proven he can add value in the last before!

Need to make a statement.
no bigger statement than dropping the sacred cow.
Drop Judd.

That will smarten up the whole lot of them.

He just doesnt chase .....

Be interesting to see how much we do tag this week.

Armfield to Dangerfield sounds right.

Maybe McLean on Thompson may be an option. Has the engine and body size and Thompson isnt that quick.

Yeahhhhhh.

no sacred cows if u want to have standards
garlett and armfield raised the bar on the weekend.
means everyone else is expected to go over and beyond.
yarran must do the same for garlett when its his turn.

its a standard....

judd has different rules to go by? he doesnt need to chase ??
is that what were doing??... i think for too long our standards have been very low... about time we listed them.

judd is part of a team.. he gets paid a million dollars ($1 of $7 for everybody else)...

need a lean fighting machine where everyone is expected to do even the mundane.. watching him jogging arou nd pretending is embarassing... seriously.....he have no creditts.. noone should be cut any slack......!!!....were after a flag!!!

yeah MM alluded to this very point in his press conf on sat night, stating that regardless of seniority each player needs to have a defensive mindset and that includes more than just knowing who your opponent is

But hes the champ remember, he doesn't need to chase, all we need to do is kick it to the champ, wasn't that our game plan for a long while? old habits die hard  :smoking:

Standards.. the little things.. the one %ers.

We cant afford half the side slacking off defensively and leavin g it up to the other half and Jamo / Henderson.

I found judds performance embarassing

Its a clean slate under MM.. and that means Judd has one too.

He let us down last year with the undisciplined gouging.... he should let us down again this year when it comes to the new defensive mindset.(i reckon noone even mentiones that to him last year)
It leaves a confusing theme.

Judd needs to show if he is aboard the Carlton FC or not....
We cant have a line in the sand ... but not really a line in the sand.. partial line in the sand message anymore....

So Judd will be dropped?

I think you might be reading too much into MM pressed.

So glad to finally be getting these c*nts on the MCG again. Let's send them back to Souf Astraya with their ears ringing from the noise of our supporters. Hate these c*nts so much.

I reckon its about time this club buries the Ratten mentality.....maybe this is a good symbolic start....as horrifying as it may sound.... it will ruffle some feathers but big boys have balls of steel.. so if u dont have them better start growing them... that means players and coaches

also glad to see MM didnt do the song thing with the players.. or come home from Perth with the team.. he took another plane.

smart guy!!!... about flower time...!!!
Players will win or lose for us... its all in their hands...they need to harden the fupp up and wrestle control of their own destiny !!!

they have been molly coddled way too long...!!

he wont be dropped... but i would drop him!!!... a half in the reserves at Cramer street will be a ripper....

will get the crowds in and will rock this club out of its malaise...

I didnt say malthouse would do it.. i said he should do it!!!.... Judd is a defensive Casper
That is the tone that has been set way too long around this club...

I didn't say that he would be dropped, i said that MM alluded to the fact that despite seniority within the team every player is expected to be accountable for their opponent in more ways than just knowing who their opponent is.
