I reckon hes faster than Garlett and Yarran even

Twice tonight BT said "It's obvious Yarran is the fastest man on the field tonight and he knows it"

He must have missed Army and Jeffy making a metre a second on him each time to lay the blocks.

Yeah but Yarran was just jogging

He gets his 2m ahead of his pursuer and just maintains it.

I also see we aren't as corridor phobic anymore. I think at times especially in the first 2 games we took the boundary line mantra too far.

There are a lot of similarities to the eay days under MM as Melbourne Victory had under Postacoglou.

I'd be interested to hear what club29 has to say about this

Megaman should be able to set you all straight on my thoughts.

oh FFS, just blow your horn.

You know you want too.

 Im a bit scared after you reprimanded me about doing so the other week.

I will say that 3 senior coaches and 12 assitants all end up at the same place with Gibbs....albiet after big summer after big summer of talk about breakout years ! unleashing ! and scruff of the necks.

I like a mobile dynamic defense. Every time i put one together on paper it has his name in it. If he does go off and becomes an onballer i hope he is replaced in the backline with a clone. He is fantastic in our back six and has the skillset of a great defender for the blues.

Brock has found his mojo again was fantastic tonight after a good game against the cats.

Very smart player who spreads well, which offsets his lack of pace.

If he continues like this he will be in our leadership group next year.

Also, no one else will agree but I think this year Jamo is back to his 2011 best.

I'm with you. Some people in here were very hard on him last week, but 1 on 1 he's a monster right now.

I for one couldn't agree more n he's been sensational thus far.

fingers cruised the 2011 laidler returns to help give a chop out from time to time.

Yarran faster than both you just cant tell cause its such an efficient running style. The only reason they were gaining on him was because he had a ball in his hand and had to bounce every few steps..

I don't think Selwood was ever really gaining on him anyway. Yarran still had a couple of gears to work through.

I did take some satisfaction from jumping out of my seat and telling Selwood you aint going to catch him, all the ducking and diving in the world isn't going to help you catch him.

I'm not sure he heard me though...

Was it right that I enjoyed the Filth winning today

Just one of those kicking-to-nothing-games I suppose.

What I meant was in the first 2 rounds we avoided the corridor even when it was the best option. We aren't doing that now.

Also I think Mick has looked at what was working for us in the past few years and is more trying to combine that with his methodology rather then overhauling the whole thing.

Very wrong Gibbsy will be elite by seasons end. Every bit as good if not better than Murph. His tackling tonight was fantastic.

Agreed his tackling really stood out to me tonight. At vital times when none of our boys could stick a tackle Bryce nailed some very difficult, hard tackles. One 20m out definitely saved a goal and we kicked one at the other end from the turnover

We need to work on his disposal, but he's not alone there. A lot of times we're just bombing it to get it out of the zone, turn it over and back it comes.

His bodywork has been fantastic. He and Hendo both give away silly frees for holding though.

Gibbs can be just as dangerous as a HB as he could Midfield or HF, just as long as he isn't given jobs on the likes of Goodes and StevieJ etc.

Be accountable be all means, but dont give him the opposition's most dangerous mid size forward.

With Walker coming back and possibly Robinson coming in too, I think we can move Simmo full time to defence. He is quick, footy smart, very good one on one, solid overhead. Gives run. He has played there occasionally and whenever he has I have liked what I've seen. Would seem an ideal type for the role to me and I think would really add something.

Thoughts?

I think the more continuity we get Ruth the defence playing together will sort out a lot of the disposal issues, as much if it has been panicked confused kicks out of defence.

Hendo has been excellent since half time of the Richmond game. We just need to keep the defensive unit playing together and it will improve. Be interesting what we do with Yaz when Eddie is back. Defense again? Or midfield/wing?

Same thing happened to Fremantle last year where it seemed they became that conscious to improve their defensive side that at times they looked like they forgot how to attack. Brisbane game at home was a classic example where they won 8 goals to 5.

No, he's a midfielder. For his own sake he will become elite and potentially win a brownlow if he plays midfield all the time. We waste him in defence.

duigan has never been much chop. he has courage but won't be on the list in 2015.
he's the new David Teague. good bloke, club man and leader to the kids. limited AFL footballer IMO.
