Because we were so good at holding small forwards last week without him?
Varcoe, Motlop, Stokes, Christensen, Smedts. I'm sure we can find a match-up for AJ.

Spot on.

Good squad

Bell plays one bad quarter and get dropped, Davies was average for the four quarters and remains. Bell would be handy against the bigger bodies of Geelong at Ethiad.

Good to see young Bucks get his chance, he won’t shirk a contest.

FFS Johnston had to back this week.

Casboult for Hampson would have to be a big chance.

The Northern Blues have a better looking defence this week (Jamo aside). Cats to win by plenty.

Bell is not out so Davies can stay in.

Honestly, can we afford to have Joseph and Davies in the same team?
That's giving a 5 goal head start.

Unfortunately Bell was crap all game against Collingwood, not just for one quarter. I thought he was probably our poorest player. Whenever he got the ball, which wasn't often, it seemed to end up in a turnover. I think he'll be a good player, but he needs to find form.

Bell had 12 contested possesions (3rd highest) and 4 clearances (4th highest) unfortunately he had 7 clangers and dispossal effeciency was at 56%

Still think he would be a better option than Davies.

Davies stays and Laidler goes............FMD.......your call MM.......can't work that one out

I thought MM might give em 4 games in a row to find out more and I thought Casboult was our best mark and may have needed one more game.....MM must know that the long bomb isn't going to be marked by Cloke, Dawes or Lynch in the Cartlon forwardline so a marking forward isn't important.

Look, we were close in the last 2 games...could've pinched them....so maybe his selections get us closer.
Cats have a tall forwardline and a good system gettting the ball to them in the open..not with bombs...lets see.

We'll miss Betts, Waite, and the calibre of an in form Laidler imo.

Go Blues

Unfortunately Laidler is just out of form. Bell and Bootsma cost us the game in the last - they were AWFUL. So no great shock really.

Laidler out is no surprise. He looked far from ready last week.

I dunno, I reckon Walker's pretty cute.

Reckon Davies and McLean were lucky. And Bootsma and Bell unlucky. I'm guessing, given our precarious start to the year, they've erred a little more on the side of senior bodies.

Having said that glad to see another young player get a run under MM. Really looking forward to watching Buckley. It might take a little while, but I reckon we're going to reap the benefit later in the year and into next year of games being put into young players. And also the change of role with players like Gibbs and Yarran.
