I find it a bit bemusing that at the same time this thread is a popular topic and people are calling for Brock to leave what is happening in the back rooms IN the back rooms, there are people bemoaning the lack of connection with the fan base by the club and a perceived "inner sanctum" that doesn't value the supporters or let them know what is happening.
Some may think it is a long bow to draw, but I see them as connected. As I said earlier, IMHO it is great that there are players like Brock in the team who will (in between the odd foot-in-mouth moments) tell it like it is and share openly. Yes, this is a professional organisation but I think that attitude has been the catalyst for the general feeling of 'disconnect' that the fans have with the club.
Instead, we should be seeing more of Brock McLean. I reckon the club is slowly learning this which is why we see him give interviews. I am *fairly* confident that the club briefs players before giving interviews and are generally going to be aware of the topics that may be discussed. On the balance of probabilities, they were actually KEEN for Brock to get out there and say something about it.
It's a shame the media have used his comments to wax lyricals and grab headlines, but hey, that's their job and by 2012 most people are aware that the media are brain-dead clowns who secretly cry themselves to sleep because as they know, they're all only one short step above the people that they write sensationalist stories about. A Current Affair anyone?
Ahem.. back on topic... Nothing to see here. Honest answers to questions that were pretty much guaranteed to be asked. Hope we see more of it.
