I'd be interested to know how many here have read mick n buttifants book. Reason being it gives u a good insight into him. Anyone thinks kernahan will influence him is a fool. Mick may be about mick but he ain't a fool unlike pagan. He may not be a Carlton person but he is results driven n expect him to nurture what we have. He hasn't accepted this role without long thoughts about his legacy real or perceived

He barracked for Carlton as a kid....yeah before the StKilda and richmond days...bit a Carlton there...the roots...the beginning...the important bits...if you're thinking Orthodox.

Yeah right
Patience and optimism on TC ????????????

Good luck

This forum (not unlike others) is notorious for quickly losing patience... usually after a period of perceived failure.

But with MM, some have set a new standard... before he's even walked walked through the door.

Let's wait until he's coached a game at least...

No more excuses!
The line is the sand is now drawn by members and expectations should be to get us back winning premierships.
This club is built on premiership success and nothing less should be tolerated. Enough is Enough.
If your happy with 15+ years of mediocrity and now a 5 year rebuild plan.....go and support (as a member if you please) some-one else!

I assume that Robert Wiley and/or Gavin Brown will be in charge of training tomorrow. Seems a bit odd that MM isnt there for the first day back but i guess the club knew that when we signed him.

Who has set a new standard?
I stated at the start of last year that top 4 was the expectation.
With a healthy list, I dont see any reason to change that.

I think the 1st and 2nd year players come back early and then the bulk of the list followed by the older players. I take it that 90% of our list be heading to Arizona.

That's all terrific and I agree in principle, but this all sounds like a call to war.
Sort of imagining a Braveheart moment here.

What if we have the same run of injuries as this year? Do we paint our faces blue, don a kilt and march in unison down to Visy?
I really, really doubt that anyone on this board, or any other Carlton board, care for anything less than a premiership, but if that isn't forthcoming do we act in a pragmatic manner or should we just lose our shit altogether?

Other than mikkey who had the balls to front up on camera and ask some great questions, has anyone else done anything other than to fruitlessly threaten to do this or that here?
Even Richmond supporters are becoming more practical than us. Now there's a worry.

I think it is 2nd to 4th year players come back tomorrow, although alot of the older players come too.

You wanna see the little things come together before we talk premierships
My POW to Surrey was tongue in cheek.... obviously...

We cant win more than 3 games in a row... our players cant break through to the other side ... and our list balance needs addressing.

I wanna see improvements in consistency and a gameplan before i worry about flags.....

Ratts not there anymore, don’t lower your expectations and settle for mediocrity just yet.
Stick’s is still at the helm, at least for another year.

Out and talking footy today with non-CFC supporters & consensus is that the injuries were crippling this year. Was the axing justified etc, etc?
Taunts to those of Carlton persuasion during Sept of "where's your team"? What's your thoughts on Mick?
The joys of living in Perth when Dockers think they've made it. Hate them with a passion.

Mick hopefully brings no excuses with him next year. Improvement right through the list & a player response of bringing the same game to each game, every week at an A grade level.
Development & improvement in consistency is what I hope from MM. Some of our supposed stars becoming bonafide stars but those underneath rising a notch too.

Yep - Sticks will be blamed in 2013 redback. It's just so obvious.

Back in the days of "tanking" people here were talking about a Carlton flag in 2011. Everything should be together by then was the claim! We'll have all the dead wood gone and the stars will be ready to take the AFL by storm.

Well people 2011 has come and gone and our top draft picks are maturing, our current list is primed and we have even thrown some top 20 pics out without a blink of an eye, due to chocka full of talent I would have thought ..... well time for pay day must surely be 2013/2014.

Surely a premiership coach would be the iceing on the cake, especially with a remodelled coaching panel.

Ratts had years to get us to play to some kind of consistent standard.

sequences of 3 wins in a row and dropping games to Port and GC wasnt great was it?
We never beat Hawhorn... beat StKilda 1 time... couldnt beat the Dogs last year.... struggled against Essendon*... thats not a side that is doing what needs to be done.

What kids finished in the top 10 in our BnF?

Hows Gibbs n Co progressing???
Where is Lucas?

How does a 32 year old win our BnF.. playing his least imprssive season in years???

Improve those things and you can begin to dream about flags.

Wasted 5 years.........................

Won't need to close my eye's ..... Malthouse has the same list now to work with Synbad ..... Ratt's got us to 2 final campaigns out of 3 - surely Malthouse will do better! I certaintly expect a premiership coach to do better than RATTEN, don't you? :smoking:  :thanks:
