For all the talk of a dysfunctional board, this seems to have gone smoothly, especially with Kernahan announcing he'll be stepping down next year.

As others have pointed out, the two additions bring networks and commercial clout to the table, which should be a good thing, provided megalomania doesn't get in the way.

As Stephen Moulton pointed out, the board hasn't been leaking, which would indicate a degree of harmony. As far as I'm concerned it looks positive.

I just hope the new board hires the right people to run the departments

The board runs the club
IMO there is an over reliance on the Pratts and Bruce's donations.
Whilst there has been some improvements from the dark years a few years ago the board needs three things to change that stand out like dogs balls
1 a President who is a true leader of the corporate world
2 A board of no more than six
3 to be innovative

I personally was pissed off we were not the club playing in NZ for the next 3 years
Another opportunity missed

I do admire people who donate their time to run something but the board have done it in a time warp to a large degree

The new additions excite me in the belief that we are finally getting somewhere and the people on the board have realised there is a problem.

The bottom line for me in this is if we continue to have an over reliance on money from a few wealthy people we will never get anywhere except go backwards.

A President who is a leader of the corporate world doesn't necessarily make a good football club president. There are plenty of examples to prove it.

Conversely, a President who was a great on fielder leader doesn't necessarily make a good football club president.

As dire as things may be with our Board situation, at least it's not so bad as to invite David Koch to be our President...

I don't think we are in any position to be scoffing at boards, or management of other clubs in the AFL.

That is just bizarre. It's like they want to cease to exist.

He's a pretty smart man. He plays up for the TV cameras but he is/was Australia's premier finance journalist.
Don't think it's that ridiculous an appointment. He has a daily national TV show and will lift the profile of the Power.

I think it's just that he's a flog.

Not sure how good an appointment Fahour is given the MLC debacle.
That board should be sacked.

I'm excited.

There is change afoot and I think these two will energize the board.
Things will be shaken up !

I see positive things ahead for the organization
