That'd be a good get. Has done some really good things strategically as a board member with Special Olympics Australia. Half a dozen more out there as well...they don't need to get involved at board level...but with a few changes in the works, they will get involved. Exciting times at Carlton.

Doesn't sound like that is right, Sailor Man

Excellent news !!
Tho why does Sticks needs a 1-2 yr succession period ?
I think it is damming of Sticks, that Pratts and Mathiesons have to threaten to withhold money to bring about the necessary changes.
Reluctant President...yeah right !!

Or are we taking too much stock in the rumour mongering of a known muck raker in Caroline Wilson?

I'd only take notice of the quotes in that or any other of her articles personally.

Ericpascoe on BF has a much better track record

It was interesting that only Fahour's name was in the story - and not the other bloke. He will be totally unknown to almost all supporters. He is a CEO - a gig he has only recently started.

IF Luke Sayers were to join it would be interesting times! No nonsense very professional. Be amazed if he had the time tbh, only took over as CEO at PwC 6 mths ago and took no time to immediately force into retirement non profit producing partners - the broom swept through PwC in an unprecedented manner.

Ahmed is uncompromising, has clear vision of his own ability. Leadership at NAB and AUS Post has been divisive, depends on who you listen to.

No doubt however that he is well connected and a strong leader - nepotism anyone?

Out of interest, did you see Luke Sayers mentioned anywhere, or is it just a hunch?

Some background
Quote:
Image
Luke Sayers is the CEO of PwC Australia and Vice Chairman for East Cluster, PwC's Asia-Pacific network of firms.

Under Luke's leadership PwC Australia is focused on delivering value to clients, lending expertise to help address important national issues, and contributing to communities around Australia.

Yes I did. Sorry if that was a bit cryptic, I wasn't saying I didn't believe Fahour was joining, quite the opposite. I'm just not buying a lot of the other stuff that Caro is sprouting without any quotes or evidence.

My mate has worked for Ahmed both at NAB and Auspost (reporting to him directly). His view is he is a fantastic leader and is very focused on the big picture. Likes innovation but also adopts what works.

Another point - Ahmeds contract is up Feb 2013 at Auspost. Rumour is he will stick around but put in a clause that will allow him the flexibility to explore "other" interests.

No one on the board would be unhappy about possible inclusion/s or re-shaping of structure if it is likely to have a positive outcome for CFC. That's the sole motive of all involved. The implied factionalism and accusations of self interest referred to in this forum are a furfy.

No one would be happier (to have a BETTER qualified and WILLING president take over and improve the club) than the current president himself. Its about whats best for the club.

As for Brett Rattens recent "Sorta" "Kinda" "probably" subtle but seemingly purposeful implication of a lack of integrity in CFC's handling of assistant coaches contracts (quoted in Saturdays Herald-sun as saying --->“To give five years of service and then to be treated in a way maybe we don’t like people to be treated is something that needs to be fixed up,”) Give it rest Brett, the club will do no less than what they are obliged to do. There's nothing unethical in refusing out an entire years salary to an individual if that individual prefers to dedicate that year to another role within another club nor is there anything unethical about exercising a contracted severance agreement option.

On a further note I'm sick to death of constantly hearing/reading media quotes (from Ratts) using injuries and the implied ruthlessness of the CFC as introductory disclaimer's (when referring to his coaching performance and or subsequent termination) The reality is there was a seemingly better candidate available.

@denimundies

Ratts is giving me the shits too. Commenting on everything Carlton, yet he said he had moved on? Just get the Port job already and prove us wrong, but I'm the meantime shut up.

I have not been told whether it is true that Fahour has been asked by the Pratt/ Mathiesen families to join the board, however, I don't suppose there will be any apologies from those on this forum who spouted the rubbish about Jewish board members knocking back Fahour's previous bids for a seat on the board based on his religion.
