We played well in the season proper past 2 years but in finals we were terrible. We were not a finals side.

Hmm, so we made the finals, played in finals and won a final but we werent a finals side.

Let me get this straight.

Big forwards win finals. Cloke kicked six, despite being triple teamed.

Therefore Collingwood won on Friday night?

Have I got that right?

But if we had Cloke playing CHF in the WCE final in 2011, we would've won that final easily.

Cloke kicked 6 in a team that was dominated, and has 4 or 5 spuds, by the overwhelming flag favourites. Amazing effort. Had he not played they'd have lost by 70. Pavlich dominated last night. Hawkins dominated last years GF, and Cloke dominated for most of 2010. The list goes on. Key forwards win you premierships, not Jeff Gartletts.

how did dawes go?????
cloke and waite different story!!!
i do not understand why people are saying no to cloke.
in three years time when, judd, waite, scotland, simpson are gone so is the window.
the bloke is 25, cant remember the last time he missed a game nor is he injury prone at all.
yes it may be big money, but what is a flag worth??
is boak worth 700k???
our forward line would be complete, and its frees up waite.
it also gives mitchell/casboult/rowe time to develop a bit more.
big forwards win big games, but you also need support, that would be waite, not dawes.
how good would it be if cloke pulled on the navy?

Old news to some, no doubt, but there's plenty of buzz in Northern FL circles this weekend suggesting that Cameron, and the Clokes as a clan, are WA-bound, on the back of Travis moving to Freo.

So the whole family follows their 25yo interstate when he moves for work?

Maybe they've got 4 or 5 spuds because a high percentage of their TPP is being spent on just a few players?
You cant have it both ways.

This IS the Cloke family though.

I have a feeling they won't venture too far from the compound.

Some memorable Cloke quotes:

"I know it was you, Cameron. You broke my heart."

Travis: "I've always taken care of you, Cameron"
Cameron: "Taken care of me? You're my kid brother and you take care of me? Did you ever think about that? Hah? Did you ever once think about that? "

and finally......

Travis: "I don't want anything to happen to him while my [father]'s alive."

That's how it is in their family. And the reason that Travis wasn't allowed to sign the contract at Collingwood.

We didn't need Cloke, if Waite was fit would have won.

Moreover, who were the key forwards that dominated in the first two flags for Geelong? There's more to a finals/flag winning team than dopey FFs.

I'm not dumb enough to not understand the benefit Cloke could offer our fwd line. But discussion on him needs to be kept in perspective. Mostly it's not.

Simply, the price/length of contract supposedly on the table for Cloke, who has only kicked more than 40 goals in a season twice in 8 years, is way too much.

Sure we can get him for no draft picks through new free agency rules, but what's a 6yr $4-5m contract going to cost us long term for a guy who is worth maybe 3/4 of that?
