Yes

Consider who is 1 of our bigger sponsors & who is on the board - recycling or cardboard anyone?

So...
What do you know about Cloke?

They way the media has been with all of this, I wouldn't take what Healy said to the bank. In any case, I don't believe that the club would make a decision about Ratts because of these sponsors and their potential finance.

baz baz instead of being childish do you have anything to add to this discussion????

MM is our new coach....

... he will be annunced inside 2 weeks...

Ratten never cut it...

what do you have to add??

Ok..so you have lost the smartarse verbal battle and now you want to talk football.

Ok ill talk football

MM has not been announced as our new coach. Ill wait and see if that happens...thats the first point

If he does arrive at CFC he will bring with him a set of values and disciplines around football which will bring some positives and negatives.

He will bring some insights not afforded to him until this year becuase he has been able to stand aside from the inside at Collinwood, if that makes sense and look at the game plans required to be successful in a less lensed sight.

The ramifications on the club, finacially and culturally im not sure about because I dont know enough about the place to comment.

Playing stocks in terms of skill and ability is a little shy. I can comment on that because I view quite a few Northern games and senior games.

Will there be a honeymoon period, probably

Will it last very long, probably not.

Will Malthouse deliver a premiership, just as likely as Ratten

So I guess the question now is - is Mick bringing Cloke with him?

An interesting montage on AFL 360 now featured a clip where Robbo said "Collingwood can't understand why the Clokes have walked away from a contract which was virtually signed". It was from several weeks ago.

Now, if OR's hypothetical sequence of events is correct, could there be something to the thought that the Cloke deal is as far along as the Malthouse deal seemingly is?

My sequence of events wasn't necessarily hypothetical

Yes I gathered, hence the question

Which remains unanswered....

Ratts is set to earn $550K next year. That's more than some earn throughout their entire professional life. He is also almost guaranteed an assistant coaching gig at another club and will probably command $250-300K.

The smarter ones on here picked it might end up this way right at the very beginning.

FMD synbad.....you make this forum actually worth visiting. I think for awhile there TC was suffering from the same kiss bum disease that infects our club.

I suppose there are two ways of looking at this equation.
One is that a sponsor/s or other persons are having undue influence. The other is that they are allowing the freedom to make the right decision without having to consider the financial aspect.

I don't know which one is right in this case.

more likely than ratten.. cos ratten isnt going to be coach ever again......... so he is more than unlikely to deliver us a flag...he is in a hopless position to win us a flag.. impossible...

which is pretty much where he was 5 years ago

MM has tu rned average teams into teams that are competive..

so lets wait and see shall we???

anyway.. dont entertain me if i grate u.....

cos all this new found energy should have been present when we fell off the cliff... if not before

If a sponsor said to the club... Don't concerned yourselves with the financial ramifications of a decision, just put the very best person int he job...

I would have absolutely no problem with that.

If they are dictating who they want in the job, I would be more concerned.

Of course sponsors will affect the outcome.

Knowing what I know about hyundai's general approach to sponsorships, that would be a correct assumption.

Anyway, I think this question has been answered.

Synbad is certainly capable of dishing out vitriol, I agree with you there.

But in the post you have highlighted the only thing I can see that anyone could take offence to is misunderstanding what apathetic means.
