Pretty simple this one and if the poll doesn't go the way I expect it to I think I will have a meltdown.

I don't want Travis Cloke under any circumstances. But IMO $5m over 5 years is just so bloody stupid it does not warrant discussion.

Cloke isnt after a million.
But i hear he is after 5 years.
He would prefer to play for Collingwood under Malthouse.... not Collingwood under Buckley.

HELL NO.

If we can afford to pay Cloke $5M, then the club clearly doesn't need my membership money

If he could improve his conversion.
If he estranged his family.
If he got rid of that stupid fairy wing tattoo.
If it wasn't a 5 year deal.

I'd say go for it.

So, what you reckon. He'd play under Malthouse for us, but for how much a season?

for $750 000?

Hopefully our recruiters are doing their job quietly and finding just which KPP might be available at trade time.

If we have the money for Cloke we have the money for just about any KPP in the league.

Or here's a novel idea for the footy department. Develop our young talls properly and see what happens. If we have to pinch a few staff from clubs like Geelong who know how to do it then go ahead. As I keep saying and as Dick Pratt said - if they're available, they're not the best.

I dont know the ins and outs of exactly what he will do but he would prefer to play under Malthouse than Buvkley.

This whole Cloke thing has been going on for ages. ....... and Malthouse.

Will he go?
I dunno.

Is it serious?...
I hear it is...

But its not the one million reported.

The one million is the killer for me. I think of all of our guys coming off contract in 2014. We'd be saying no to few and relying on kids & rookies to buff out the list.

What about you, you want him here?

Even $750,000 per season is well over for Cloke IMO.

Maybe,

but find another KP forward in that kind of bracket and see what you can get him for.

At the end of the day.. if Malthouse comes and we flip the coin to get him.
We have to do it inside 3 seasons.Judd will be washed up and Malthouse will have that long.
Sticks's blueprint was 5 years and 2 have passed.

What happens after that is anyones guess

Yeah, I don't really disagree. However, if we won a flag, I could live with it.

If we won 2, I'd get his replica fairy wings tattooed to my thighs.

That's it in a nutshell. We're in the middle of our window. So far we're not even the Bulldogs.

I dont know what we are or we arent.
The feelin in the indusrty is were underachieving .
Remember Ross' "Carlton are taking babysteps " comments.
We have been unable to string together more than 3 in a row.

The feeling is we cant waste this.

Its my feeling also... not too sure if i would have gone about all this the way this board has.

They sounded out a coach.. and then couldnt get him last year.. so gave Ratts a TWO year contract...
Even if they wanted him out ... 3 months ago they would have been shown up as the fools the are.

They cant go for an untried coach now...

And if Malthouse says no, falls through for whatever reason. We could well go around again with Ratts.

Which would make this year a waste, and put us in a holding pattern. Ratten would know he was dead man walking.

We've come to far, now.

Interesting times

$750k for 5 years and no trade required?

If it didnt compromise our TPP plans I'd do it. Especially if we got MM to coach him.

They already know MM answer..... its telepathy.

He wont say no.

Dont listen to the reports...... Malthouse wont be the person who killed bambi... sticks has to be..... so malthouse knows nothing.....that way .... malthouse doesnt walk into a club that hates him... he walks in as its saviour.

Something needs to go seriously wrong now for Malthouse to not be coach.

.... and a huge chance on Cloke

Absolutely not. Too much time, too much cash.
