Brad
The board runs the club
It appoints people to assume roles at the club
They have appointed the wrong people
Its corrupt, inept and ithe club is a 95s boys club.
Fahour should organise a ticket to challenge the mess

Dont you get it Brad
the board needs to be changed and evrything will flow from there.

We are [REDACTED] unless it happens

Look at the presser
last night
The coach is useless
Our captain couldnt give a shit

This is the club I love and support
Raaten is gone now.
Posters like me are only partially vindicated
Look at the big picture
The culture of the whole club needs to change now

Starting with the board

Pull your head out of the sand

Can I just point out that last week when I said I enjoyed the win over Essendon*, but thought we had no business playing finals this year I was largely condemned...

This isnt an I told you so thing, (well, not totally) but lets at least be relieved that we wont get slaughtered in the finals and focus on barracking for collingwood to fall on their arses.

This trumps anything I can think of. To those who pulled on the jumper tonight (apart from McInnes) you are gutless pea hearted f*cks. You sh*t on the the three generations of support my family has given the club and you do not deserve to wear our beloved navy blue jumper.

This year has been a giant loss ever since the Essendon* game in Round 4 and we need to realistically assess where we are. Ratts, sorry mate, I love you like a brother but you are a sh*t coach. Sticks, please, just step aside, you are my password on pretty much everything, but it's time, you're out of ideas. Andy Mac, you were a god damn living legend as a player, in an administrative capacity you are lame.

Bryce Gibbs - you are a pathetic s@ck of sh*t and a waste of a high draft pick
Chris Judd - thank you for coming to our club, but your 'leadership' is ordinary and when we need you you cannot lead
Murph - you're awesome but you were missing tonight
Jamo - please just get healthy
Lachie - as above
Jaz Waite - as above, but please show up every game

The worst night I have had as a Carlton supporter, I'm embarassed to support Carlton tonight.

(I was absolutely dumb founded why Duigan was paid a free kick against tonight - eyes on the ball and jumped into a contest, friggin ridiculous decision)

not as bad as the free against kruezer for tackling a bloke to the ground - cost a certain goal..........second thoughts, maybe a certain point.
do we have a goalkicking coach ? ...........needs his bum kicked till his nose bleeds

As terrible as the first half was, after getting back into the contest in the 3rd and being only 2 goals own at 3QT I thought we'd run it out. The fact we couldn't finish them off is just not acceptable.

I'd say there will be more 'action' in the CFC Boardroom this week then on the training track. Season over now so time to move on. We need a major shakeup and it needs to be done right.

Coaches - this is a given. Won't say too much here because my sentiments have been covered throughout this thread. Will happen.

Board - If Sticks rolls in MM and pulls the trigger on some tough decisions then he may survive the cull. MAYBE.

Playing List - things need to be shaken up. We are now 2 years into our supposed 5 year 'Blue Print' plan and going backwards. If we want success in the next 2-3 years we need to look at:

Trading out a ruck man (Warnock or Hammer) whilst they still have currency

If we have the cap space we keep talking about then let's go down the Cloke or Goddard path.

Go hard for mids (Boak, Caddy, Toy etc)

Another KPD, not sure Jamo, Hendo & Watto can be trusted to stay healthy all year

Time for a new captain. Judd has been fantastic but it's Murphs time now.

Sign up Brock. May be slow and skills aren't silky, but plays with something many others don't - heart!

Look at drafting big bodied kids that are both physically and mentally tough.

Finally put every player on notice. No performance, no senior games. No more easy selections.

Believe it or not but with the right mix we probably aren't that far away but changes need to be made NOW.

I had top come here and read this before having my siesta. I'm like a mouse mesmerized by a snake. I know I should just run away from this but I just have to stare at it.

I thought Tommi's post was pretty apt. I feel similar. Just remove the 48 years and insert 62.

I probably won't even bother to get out of bed for next week's game unless we play a whole lot of kids. Play Gibbs in the NB for starters. Let him be as embarrassed as we are with his lack of performances for the entire season. Play Yarran in the front half where he belongs. Play somebody who gives a stuff about the jumper. Anybody. Give ME a game. I've still got my old woolly jumper with the collar on it and the sewn on insignia. It's well traveled but I'm happy to pull it on. I'm pretty well stuffed but by God, I'm still able to put my body on the line and I dare anybody to try and sell me candy and run past. Oh. And If I were to miss one shot from inside 40, I'd shout the entire membership of the club a carton of Corona.

GUTLESS ALMOST TO A MAN YOU LOT. I WOULDN'T BE SORRY TO SEE ANY OF YOU LEAVE IF THAT'S THE BEST YOU CAN PUT ON FOR US.

Play Yarran on the ball. That's where he should end up. IF he had a heart. IF he worked hard on his fitness. Might teach him a lesson next week.

The reality is, you cant have forwards who cant kick the ball.
Whether its lack of development or a lack of realisation by the coach, carrying blokes who cant kick the ball consistently will eventually come back to hurt you.

Thanks BV.

We can say what we like about the MC and coaching staff and their contribution to last night, but the players alone are responsible for their piss poor effort and workrate in the first half.

Throws real doubt over the talk about them playing for the coach.

No Brad you miss the point once again
It starts at the very top
Ratten was handed the job like Pagan was
It all starts with Sticks and the board
Last nights result shouldnt suprise any Carlton Supporter

Get Fahour now
Someone please

Effort
Workrate

What does that have to do with the board?

As usual, you can't seperate the issues.[/quote]
It's just a flesh wound.

last night against GC was one of the most shameful performances ever by a Carlton team.

Reminds me of the following games

1. 85 Elimination final
2. 88 Prelim against Melbourne
3. 94 Semi final against Geelong

The outcome from these games was rebuilding of attitudes.

Its time to let Ratts go and bring someone who can be tougher with the playing group.

Do you demand the same players play this week against St. Kilda or do you drop those who werent prepared to play against GC?

e.g. Armfield, Simpson, Gibson, Scotland, Gibbs, Betts, Garlett?

I'm in shock. How can a supposedly proud footy club like Carlton put up that rubbish?
I was watching the game at a pub and was wearing my Carlton gear. Other people were around me and as the game wore on the laughter and ridicule aimed at Carlton become deafening. I hate to say it but I felt ashamed and embarrassed to be a Carlton supporter.

No passion, commitment, desire displayed. Another lifeless performance in a season where top 4 was the benchmark. A horrific result for Carlton and surely the end of Rattens reign

Gibson surely has to be the first to go. I didn't see him get near it all night.

Easily 100 times worse than the game against Brisbane that ended Pagan's reign of terror.

I think we are faced with a stretch of a few years outside the eight now.

You know, I thought we learnt something from those close finals losses. But all we learnt is that losing finals hurts too much so its safer not to try.

Grumpiness subsided enough to be able to make a statement....

Carlton are mentally weak...choken when we could go top of the ladder, choked when we had a chance to scrape into finals.

it is time for Kernahan and Ratten to piss right off and for a handful of inept players to go with them...oh and take the FWD coach too, one useless knob, John Barker, shit player, shit coach

This game was lost in the coach's box imo

That first qtr was played at a helter skelter pace and we could not handle it.

Why were the players not instructed to slow the play down, just to compose ourselves for a while? that would require a plan B...

Our disposal efficiency was disgraceful but the players looked frantic and rudderless.

Maybe, maybe not.

Like I said though, the board is a seperate issue entirely. There are plenty of threads to discuss that.

I was talking about the players workrate and effort last night. Regardless of whats happening at the top, the players are responsible for the effort they put out on the field.

The thing that has disappointed me all season has been the lack of effort and the dumb decisions they make.

You can solely blame the coaching direction for that if you like.

Personally I think its both.

The players have made a point of saying they're playing for the coach the last few weeks. What we've seen for most of the year indicates they're not.

I thought from Round 4 onwards they'd lost faith in the coach, then something happened after the Port loss and the relationship was repaired, but the kind of effort they put up last night, they're not playing for the coach and I don't think they believe in what he's doing.

Makes the decision at the end of the season pretty easy really.

Yeah they can kick sometimes...sometimes they can... its a confidence thing...
That was an ugly mess... nothing controlled about the way we went about trying to win a % booster....so hurried meant shit kicking
Everything was hurried... we addressed that after half time... but the pressure was on ... and it wsnt going to be our night.

Still kicking to the pockets against GCS.... and kicking it long to Eddie.
Mids didnt wanna get dirty...
..

I agree with all that. Add to that the fear the 22 had whenever Ablett was in the area. One player had them all rattled.

We did enough to win by 6 goals but our converting was at its terrible best. Whether it was a mismanaged 50 entry or just plain easy miss like the first half of the 3rd quarter. Its a pattern though. Whenever it gets tough we kick points. CHOKERS !!!! WHY WHY WHY !!! year after year point after point. After a couple we crumble even further as we fear the opposition running down the other end and scoring with one entry. MENTALLY WEAK !!!

It kills me.

.........but i am dealing with it.

I know there will be changes now. I dont care who coaches as long as whoever it is goes through every tape a million times and identify those who flake out when a certain type of pressure is applied. The pressure that comes with expectation. Expected to make a pass -MISS. Expected to kick a goal - MISS. Expected to beat gold coast - LOSE.

This list will never get over it and needs to change by 20% at least. The mix needs to change. It may mean trading a favourite or two but it needs to happen to get a different mix and hopefully mindset.
