What a LEGEND!

Never forget at the SOS testimonial, Bruce coming up to our table to say hello!

I was a nervous wreck, I had a footy there so gave it to the great man to sign which he did, and had a photo taken with him!

Unbelievable dude! My wife had no idea who "the hobo" was and couldn't work out why I was so excited until a few days later I showed her Bruce highlight on DVD etc.

One of my favourite EVER footballing moments. :smoking:

I find it hard to split Bruce and Jezza as my all-time favorite Blue. Jezza was electric but Bruce just never made a mistake.

Easily my favourite player of all time. He was years ahead of his time with his precise passing by hand or foot, and always made the right decision whether to mark or spoil.

Yeah, I remember him well. Now he could lay a bump. Top 5 all time greatest Carlton players was the Doormat.

he knew where his spoil was going to go.. just as someone can direct a kick or handball..

Doull is the sort of bloke who should have monuments built in his honour.

But they never do.

He never took any crap either.

A very fair player, but if any of his teamates were getting hassled he'd be the first one
there supporting them.

His game in the '81 GF against the filth was phenomenal....

We were lucky to see Bruce play just about every game; including his early games pre Barassi in the Reserves, and those for the Big V; and we loved him, as we loved Jezza and Dom......incredible players; especially in big games.

On the next level; about 1 millimetre below them; is Brent Crosswell.....today; he'd be an absolute superstar.

Doull is indelible Blue.

Never put a foot wrong.
Never said a bad word.
Loyal and committed to his team and team mates.
Respected by the whole footy world.

Loved what he did to Royce Hart...the only one who could..and he had many many scalps...in fact...all his opponents.

Had a good chat with him at his Merimbula Newsagency a few years back...shy or reserved, but I was surprised I got more of a chat from him than Lou Richards ever got on World of Sport.

Equal greatest Blue...there are so many of them for me....all mentioned above, including Big Nick...did I mention Southby, McKay, Walls........legends along with Bruce.

Lets build a statue of him at Visy....Jeannie?

Imagine him on the board....probably makes more sense to say nothing than speak shit and do nothing

With all those.

Youd have to say Doull is still top 3 which is an amazing feat.

Probably would be big Nick Jezza and Doull... no order.

Then from then on you can throw a blanker over 10 .... including Diesel Kouta Walls Dom etc

Blessed with champions

Don't forget Sticks...

Bruce is one of the main reasons Kernas moved to Carlton.

Never let personal situations get int he way of his on-field endeavours.

We've had flashier players but possibly none better.
