SOunds too much like Gellong supporters of 2006
post from a Geelong supporter on 3 June 2006:
"Today marked the end of the following careers, if not now, in the near future or at the end of the season.
Bomber Thompson
The rest of the coaching staff
Cameron Ling
Josh Hunt
Tom Harley (body is gawn)
Brad Ottens (body is not up to 100 minutes of football)
Steve Johnson"
A little patience and support doesn't hurt.
I hear what you're saying j.s. but it is odd logic. Should Frawley still be at the Tigers? Did we get rid of Pagan a year too soon. Would the cats have won those flags with another coach? They did with Scott. It's about a clear judgement on gameplan, communication skills, strategies, game day smarts, player development etc. it's not about blindly supporting a flawed appointment.
Having said that, I think unless we lose to sides like the Bulldogs etc, he will last the year. And if he gets us playing better he may go on next year, partly because those that picked him may not want too much scrutiny given that our last two coaches were chopped in contract. If Ratts contrat allows us to end it if we don't make finals, then he might be gone. Unfortunately I expect we will make another poorly researched appointment to replace him.
Parko says he has great footy knowledge, and he may have better understanding of the game than 90% of ex players, butbthat's irrelevant if he is only the 14 -18th best coach in the AFL. If we replace him then I hope we get the next great coach coming in to the AFL and not some ego driven has-been looking for a super top up.
