Noticed this move polarized opinion.

Same say good move we were still in the game and he deserved to get subbed.

Same say that it will do more harm than good, Boots would have learned a lot more by staying on the field.

Personally i think were flowered either way!

He might be the closest to any player being actually man managed effectively. Plenty of baffling and cringeworthy stuff on the night, don't think this was one of them.

The backline has looked completely lost for patches in the last two weeks. They don't know who to play on at times and where to run. There was a 10 min period in the WCE game where it was really evident .

Poor old Boots was lost but he wasn't on his own. I mean shit Watson chasing Roughy and twice forgot he's left footed. Urgh.

Zac made bungles and so did Duigs . Jammo was not great either .

Bottom line he was struggling and it was probably the best move we made all night.

Good move... He looked way out of his depth.

The GWS & Melb games were the right opponents for him but to be honest I thought Boots being selected at all for this game & the Geelong game wasn't quite right. When we drafted him most agreed 2012 would be development, with a few games in 2013.

I like Boots but he looked undersized & underconfident last night against the team that has brushed us aside for 7 years. Would've been better to play Lucas.

Maybe this is why McInnes wasnt played this week, he is close to selection on form but may wait a couple more weeks. Lambs to the slaughter. Yet again Collingwood bring in first gamers and they look like they belong. I guess that is the difference between a top side and middle of the ladder club like we are.

Agree entirely. Might not have made a difference to the outcome, but surely someone with a bigger body and more experience like a Bower/Russell would have been a much better option in defence.

I like that we are giving him games but he looked totally out of his depth last night and subbing him at the half was the correct decision.

Bower? FMD, won't be here next year, has made the most of his abilities, now time to try a kid like McInnes who has form and deserves a chance.

The novelty of playing him should be over now, I was gobsmacked that they played him against the Hawaks, a side that has physically challenged our senior players for the last few years

He has been given a taste of senior footy, let him go back and keep learning to play against men in the VFL even though the Bullies are struggling

I can see a bright future in him, he has a lot of Ang Chrstou traits in that he runs the lines well, nice booming kick and has a nice jump and spoiling technique, there is a lot to like about him

But lets mark him down as a keeper at the moment, you could pick him again against the GC, but promoting and demoting may not be a good thing either

Against Nth, Bulldogs etc lets have a look at McInnes, Kerr etc and make a decision on them for next year

Did we have the depth to move himto another position? Maybe not.

Should we have left him on for 10 mins in third? Maybe especially when Gibbs was moved back eventually, why not try as a winger or evn forward pocket for even 10 mins of the third? it's not like we were in the game.

Did you see ice on Kreuzer post-game? Which was best long-term keep him on or playing Bootsma.

If Kreuzer doesn't play because of injury was it the right decision?

Worst decision was the on-ground leadership teams lack of support when Boots got out-bodied?

Glad I'm not a coach! Makes my head hurt!

Not sure why people don't like Bower?
He's a quick defender spoils both arms and attacks the game.
I can can see everybody bagging the club when he goes west and is a great 150 game player
I think people expect every player to be super stars!
If Bower leaves it will be regretted at some stage.

I hated it

smacks of - its your fault they are killing us - perception I know, but its how i felt.

plus

I think if we were to sub early then 1 of the 3 ruckmen needed to go cos that clearly wasn't working.

So take Kruise off - I think his knee is restricting him - play Bootsma on the wing or HFF

Gibbs back

Judd - Robbo CHF

Just try something.

No - kid off, Garlett on.
