Watching the poise and football nous of Sidey and Beams, I could just never imagine a 4th year Carlton player playing like that! FFS Russels a top 10 pick in his 8th year at our club. 8th!!!!! Are you kidding me?
You would probably rave about Ellard if he was playing his game in a Collingwood jumper.
I guess Robinson, Yarran, Henderson, Gibbs, Murphy, Jamison, Garlett and Kreuzer haven't played like that in their fourth seasons.
Pies can put good ordinary players into their structure and get them to play their roles. They even did it with Anthony who kicked fifty goals before going backwards. This doesn't make them A graders like some believe. Best example is Dawes who looks like he's going down the same road as Anthony.
Yes, the abovementioned Carlton players have played well [u]at times[u] (key word) in their fourth years. But you can't disagree that the form/output they have shown at that stage of development and indeed beyond their fourth years is fickle. Great one week, missing the next. Not much predictability, or method in the way they are played. More of a horses for courses approach with us. Filling holes etc..
Sorry Kouta, but you've completely missed the point. Point is these collingwood guys don't have to be A graders because their system/machine is A Grade. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts when it comes to these collingwood kids.
