It's been obvious to me for a long time that we hurt more then the players, nothing new to me! Follow them on twitter, you'll find out as well!

I've noticed that there's been no From The Coaches Box email today. It's usually been delivered on a Monday before midday, and after every win it is fired out at 9am like they just opened their Christmas presents.

But so far at 3pm... nothing.

Walked past warnock on the way out of the st kilda game, he wasn't playing of course.

My brother, dad and I were fuming at the result, and when we walked
past him he was pissing himself laughing with a mate.

Bad look

bit harsh...he wasn't playing...he's allowed to laugh! Afterall, it's Monday afternoon now...the playing groups focus is now Geelong - as ours should be.

Yeah, look, I knew someone would say that doc, and partially agree with u, which is why I didn't post it at the time.

Still found it to be 'not the best look' at the time. I think we all have a fantasy that the players actually give a stuff even if they aren't playing. Goes both ways.

Happened to hear Gerard Whateley on 3LO this morning. What he said about us summed it up perfectly, i.e. we don't have a proper "system" that allows new players to slot in and be effective, unlike other clubs who have had injuries this year but still seem to get results, i.e. Eagles, Pies, Bombers etc. This indicates that its just not TC'ers who have picked up on this.

He also said that we rely too much on the "razzle dazzle individual brilliance" to get us up. Read - we lack a game plan that the group believes in.

Hope Ratts and Co were listening..

Last years game against West Coast when we lost Jamo, and Western Bulldogs game when we lost Waite were another two examples of games where things seemingly went pear shape once 1 key player went down.

Just hear Warnock's presser on SEN. Wanted to head butt the wall. Players are not hurting or embarrassed.

Can anyone provide a summary?

Summary of nothingness? "you always will have losses" " we are focussing on next week" etc etc
You're not going to get alot publicly from players and coaches. Sereve criticicm is saved for behind closed doors. Once in a blue moon you might get the real feelings like when Ratten really spat it publicly in 2010 after that gutless loss to the Pies. Soon turned it around the next week and won by 76pts against Essendon*.

Both Armfield and Joesph on SEN tonight said that an angry Ratten was a very scary individual. Very much eye-balls blokes, very blunt with assessments, throwing things at players so on and so forth. Said he was careful not to go hard on the younger team members though, so their confidence isn't destroyed.

You won't get that from a coach or player publicly so if you expect it at press conferences you be sadly disappointed. It's just the standard lines there.

To be fair we played a near VFL side against the Eagles that day with almost our entire defence out. Then we lost Jammo. Not a good recipe against the Eagles forwards.

We have a about 26 players to choose from right now, the spare 4 are kids who haven't played a game, from so there's not much chance of players slotting in and being effective. We lose KP players and we're stuffed. Pies lose a couple of KP defender and they were able to slot Brown and Keefe in. Now Keefe's out Tarrant's ready to return. And they still have Cloke and Dawes at the other end. They still have their ruckman, Pendlbury, Thomas etc... Depends who you lose. If we lost a few HBF's we'd have a million more to replace them...lol! Depends where your depth is not so much about depth per se.

Fair point that it was the wrong team to lose a backman against Jim, but near VFL is a stretch. Apart from ROK and Austin (who is playing regular AFL now), the other 20 were/are near best 22. Average age/games with WC was near exact that day.

The team really wasn't that different to the one that smashed Sydney the week before, and then Richmond the week after.

Interesting insight
Thanks for summarizing Jim
