Hi Dudes,

About to head off and watch the Blue Baggers have a open session at Richmond Oval.

Last year around 3 thousand rocked up  but that was a Saturday. Hopefully we still get a good
turnout.

I'll be posting my musings on twitter - @Dirko22 whilst I'm there.

Hope to see Yazz running freely, and BOOTS with the fro!

According to Duigans dad (he gets his hair cut by the barber 2 days down from my hotel), Duigan isnt injured at all, and believes his lack of game time is to do with his contract expiring at the end of the year and the Blues trying to lower his value. Evidently the Duigan patriarch is quite unhappy about it.

Can confirm Duigan was at training - trained the entire session, started before everyone else, and finished with everyone else - but trained apart the entire time.

Watson, Dale, Curnow, Bootsma all trained from the young uns.

Betts and Simpson spent some extra time practising goal kicking.

probably around 3-400 max. Took about 2000 photos im sorting through now and will post video today as well

Did you have a "wookie" t-shirt on and were sitting in the Grandstand?

So did this come from the dad or the barber?
Duigan was on EMT the Sunday after the Adelaide game and said he'd done his calf.
Next morning he and Hendo were shown getting scans.
Not sure why he wouldn't be playing in the NB's if he wasn't injured.

Yeah, that would be it. We are not playing a guy we desperately need to get his mojo back to save a few grand in player payments.

Could it be he's been pretty ordinary this year and we've decided to try some kids in his spot to see if they can play.? I'm sure if Duigan was kicking arse and taking numbers he'd be in for sure and Touhy would be out.

The club must be saving a fortune on JR!

His dad, or his dad's barber are talking shizen.

Yep Duigs trained all session separate from the group.

Kreuzer did some tap drills and some kick 'n' catch with Capuano and that was it. Didn't participate in the main drills at all.

Betts did some goal kicking practise solo, and kick 'n' catch with Kreuz & Capuano too...

The lads looked pretty sharp, skills were pretty good, but the session was very low key. Robbo goes a million miles and loves the physical stuff, even getting into Juddy

Jeffy & Yazz move with such a grace. Yazza hit the turbo's a couple of times and looked like he'll be fine. As wookie said, Walks & Simmo did stay out a little longer for goal kicking practise.

Dale looked right at home, as did BOOTS!. Nice leg on the Boot too. Watto unleashed a torp that would've gone 65 metres, and he did it with ease. He is a big unit.

Scotto has unbelievable poise and skills. He really stood out for mine. Massive set of guns on the bloke too. Gibbs looked good, and his foot skills are fantastic.

Reasonable crowd for a Friday morning, as wookie said around 300-400 ish.

Looking forward to tomorrow night.

I'll have to check with my mate "pecker" to see if he ever dresses to show his username. It might be the same outfit as BV.

How's the weather & the track over there in Adelaide :?:

Will it be greasy as per the Crows/Filth game :?:

Worried we may be a little top heavy

Cheers

Yeah, the hairdressers or dad's comments don't explain Duigs lack of form. They can't stop him playing well when he gets a game, even i it were true. Doesn't make sense really. I love Duigs as a player, and hope he regains full form and confidence soon.

I also thought that might have been u wookie - was on my own though and didn't want to look like a bit of a dill lol
I was hanging out on the concrete steps in a blue striped hoodie. Tall guy if you spotted me.

Anyhow, I thought the boys trained quite well. Skills were pretty sharp and the energy seemed good. Good signs going into the games.

One thing I was surprised about was how big Boots can kick. For toothpick legs he can kick the skin off that ball. Goes to show it is very much all about technique! Maybe he could teach me a thing or two lol

Looking forward to this match

For the record this came straight from Nick Duigans dad (the barber tends to call me when carlton people are in his shop)
