It isn't about talent, it's about attitude and physical toughness, make no mistake about it we were smashed by a side that had more desire and were physically tougher than we were bringing in light framed kids like Buckley and Bootsma is not going to solve the problem neither is kicking the crap out of the coaches there was nothing they could do yesterday as Adelaide were too strong and far too good, maybe it is time to try McLean as we don't seem to have a player capable of doing the hard grunt work apart from Robbo and Judd, and Judd is wasted in that role.

The players need to take complete responsibility for this.

Yep, and the guys need personality changes and need to get taller and broader physiques overnight, the lazy bastards!

Hi all,

Because I am such a nice guy, I have done a block booking and will work out a roster so everybody can attend.

Hello all, my first post!

Was going to get on here last night and grieve but decided to smash into some chivas regal instead and in hindsight made the right call.

Last night I was in a doomsdayer mindset, today not so much.

My head is still in the clouds however I dont think talk about past trades & strategies will change the future. Reviewing further back than the Bombers game is a waste of time.

Agree with a few points Ive read re game day strategy such as Yarran on the pine and Robbo not being used to tackle the Crows head on n the middle and give Judd & Murph a hand.....thats about as much as I care to discuss yesterday.....agree was deflating and smacks of failing to compete...

I do think the boys can respond and I do think we have the team to compete with most teams when we are switched on. I am not talking about physically, I truly believe its purely mental that is delivering the current approach to games. The Essendon* smashing took the boys from tall poppy syndrome from giving the pies a belting to being left flat on their feet. Had that loss not occurred discussions today would be vastly different.....however not the case.....they simply havent been able to dig themselves out of the hole they were put in by the bombers and struggling to get out.....

Our list isnt great from a depth perspective however with the best 22 on the park and the right mindset we can compete and will again this season....I truly believe that......however we have to get through the next month before thats probable.....

We are a differnet outfit with Carrazzo and Laids on the park that will make a difference, Talent wise.....BUT the biggest gain I see out of yesterday is will provide the opportunity to hit rock bottom - get the favouritism crap off our back that will drive the guys to step up and have a full on crack moving forward.....The emotional highs of flag favouritism that were demolished a week later were too much for our team to deal with - they weren't ready for the delusional flag favourites tag particluarly so soon after the pre season we had.....way too much of an emotional roller coaster for young guys to deal with.....regardless of efforts from within the club to cool the flag talk.....

its not about blind faith its about considering the mental & emotional crap they have had to deal with - pre season losers to flag favourites to smashed by the bombers was too much.....A few injuries and its panick stations.....and hence here we are

THE BOYS WIL BOUNCE BACK - they no longer have to deal with favouritism - they just needs to have a f$%^$g Crack now and they will....It wont be all rosy given our outs but the climb will start now in prep for Geelong and once the boys are all on the park the lessons LEARNED early this year will make for a better team at the business end of the season....

Am as pissed off as the rest of you and lucky I missed my lcd with an accidently biffed glass yesterday but just chill - its early days and we have a couple of rounds and a few ins soon that will reshape the rest of the year....

Am a big believer that a reality check that smacks you in the face can bring change - I think this will happen.

The last couple of weeks are the lessons we had to have.

The Boys WILL RESPOND across the next month

great forum by the way.....cheers

good Morning taff.
Truth is subjective in this case.
It's easy, too easy to cage and categorise people isn't it.
I wrote a reply to Rhino as to why I didn't agree with what Visitor said.
I believe he was lauding it over us, and smugly. I happened to hear a certain Essendon* supporter on the radio last week gloating about how they grew there own players and we stole all ours.
As I said, that undermines all the effort over the last few years that our players have put in.
I don't think it was anything but trolling, as we are all pretty aware of our failings at the moment, and to me, it was no more than sticking the knife in. hopefully we agree to disagree.
I hate the
'We are carlton and #*$# the rest attitude' ,and have stated so well before now. I hated the corrupt period too. I think Dannyboy's post on that was succinct.
Just because I don't go off about a lot of stuff, doesn't mean I don't think about it.
I'm definitely thinking about something Doc sherrin has been trying to say regarding the mid field.
Thinking about it a lot.
Regarding Gibbs...has anyone thought that if another club got him, he might turn into a superstar within months?
Or if we got Dangerfield, that he might suddenly become pretty average?

I guess I'm saying that we have hugely talented players, but right now we are out of sorts.
I'm gonna back Ratts to figure out what's wrong. I believe he's earned the right to try and aim for that Top 4 spot. We look like failing right now.
However, for me, I'm happy to get a bit more detached, and see whether we turn it around.
After all, there are a lot of experienced and talented players and staff at our club.
Yes, there are things I'd like to see change at the club, but right now, there are more than enough of our own, hating on everything CFC.

Lets' give it til way later in the season and see then.

ps. If it were Essendon* failing badly right now, would you feel the need to stroll over to The Hanger, and give them some advice, and admonishment?( ok, there'd be a few who would) If you did, you'd be nothing but a big fat tosser troll.
They'd know what was wrong with their own team.
To then say you have only the best intentions about it is .....

Well said bg.......

Yeah I'm sure JR would be the clincher in his current form

next time for sure - need to buy another!......... smashed thru the whole lot last night! not in good shape today

thank god we have a couple of weeks to reset.....if we dont respond now then agree with others the season is gone....currently think we can turn it around.....Our approach to the Pies game gives me enough to think we do have it in us.....just need to be consistantly aggressive and get a break with injuries and we'll do alright.

Time to stop bleeting top 4 and just have a Fair Ddinkum Crack ....Am backing the boys in to do just that....they arent "bruise free" and will give it a shake.........it's time to stop talking and just go WHACK!

Just watched the last video. Puts a lot of things in perspective. Easy to froth at the mouth over footy games but Duigan looks like a class bloke and looks like he is doing something to have an impact in people's lives well beyond footy. Certainly calmed me down a bit since yesterday.

Good call. Really a class guy. Form average at the mo but character is really important and he has loads of it.

While we are totally off the boil, I think Adelaide deserve a bit of credit as well. They really are flying at the moment and were superb yesterday. I think they would have beaten just about anyone on the day.

The body size issue is an odd one. We always appear physically smaller and less imposing than just about every opposition side. A few years ago, I always thought that as a young and inexperienced side which was still developing, it was natural that we lacked size and strength and that this would improve gradually as we continued to develop. But while the team itself improved, it doesn't appear as though the bodies got any bigger. Adelaide physically monstered us yesterday; even GWS a few weeks ago had some really solid blokes around the ball. Where is our size, where are our "tanks", where are the blokes with bodies that can crash in or shrug tackles? I'm no expert in the area of physical conditioning of players, but surely it can only be a result of a lack of concentration on weights training?

I think Adelaide got 2.1 coast to coast after we scored a behind

We seem to wait until the goal umpire waves the flag, writes down the score & then we bomb it to a contest
