Just getting back from getting a coffee in Albert st. A lot of hote/apartments on the way and a LOT of people standing around with luggage waiting for taxis and trams etc. Almost all wearing black and white and looking decidedly sheepish like they are hoping to get out of town before anyone notices.

Whistling our theme song Loud enough to be heard by all .

Truth be said, it's a great rivalry. Genuine history and grudging respect.
Not like the trumped up show on Anzac Day and the Sheedy generated hatred between Carl-Ess.
Some of their fans are scary though.

Out hustled, out muscled and outplayed today by the hybrid admin/development super team. This review will be ugly @skinnylappin

*edit*
I just realised that probably isnt referring to last night's game, likely a Coll staff match. Same sentiment applies though

I think poaching Lappin and Harvey has worked out well for the Pies.

Much better than Brown and Richardson.

What are the odds on Brown being the Pies coach in 2 years? Or is Eddie too stubborn to admit he was wrong?

One thing that stood out for me last night was that despite often being against 3 others and being caught behind and having only a slim chance for a mark, Waite would still crash the pack so as to cause a spillage, by which time the fast brigade had arrived and the ball stayed in the F50.
In hindsight as another poster commented - would have been better have Thornton forward than Bower. Wonder why he was dropped?

the discipline !

Waite's discipline in consistently creating contests and spoils for our small forwards - team orientated

Carrazzo's discipline and concentration in nullifying his opponent both defensively and offensively - his feeding (handball) our outside runners from the stoppages was as clean as you'll see - team orientated

Curnow/Armfield - creating physical pressure - gut running - team orientated

there are other examples of team orientated individual contributions - signs of a group of selfless contributors working for each other - a well oiled machine

EXCITING !

Interesting aside. Luke Ball has done his ACL. Ruled out for the season.

Ratts has Bower as a cash cow in Supercoach... needed to play 3 games :smoking:

Bower was solid last night and worked hard to the flanks to present. Really pleased with Gibb's game, he's super overhead.

Bower is a much better defender 1 on 1 than Thornton.
Bower can attack from defence.
Better safe than sorry in case Cloke, Dawes and the rucks got on top of Hendo and Jammo.

I think that Ratts got a bit cocky last night too with the positional changes?

Nearly got through the whole night without hearing about the Judd transfer and the 3 #1 draft choices, but wasn't let down.

karma for #@%*& head Maguire after taking over Before the Game as a guest and upstaging everyone
with his smug look.

"We saw the expansion coming and timed our drafting accordingly"

Referring to Pendlebury Thomas and Reid in the 2005 draft no doubt.
It worked well for them last night

Good that we still found development time for Bower and Jamo in the forward line.
Bower's missed a lot of footy, is still learning – fast :smoking:

That's a shame. Don't like seeing players out for the year, no matter who they play for.

I might have one or two exceptions, but Ball isn't one of them. Hope he is back strongly next year.

Intersting stat from the match
Judd 75% TOG.

There were only 2 players on our team that spent less time on ground. Duigan, our starting sub, and Lucas who was subbed off.

Despite essentially sitting out a complete quarter of play, Judd still managed...
35 touches
11 clearances
9 Inside 50's
3 tackles
1 goal.

Thats why he was clearly the best player on the night.

another weekend gone, still no premiership - still no innovation, other clubs are going past us, if only we had some winning habits from the NAB Cup blah blah
