Foxtel, here we come!!!!!!!!

Why not call up?
36k other people have managed to sign up. Id say the problem is you.

Do you work in the Carlton Shop?

We finally got our packs, but yeah Dane, as pointed out already, some people do need their tickets, either for pre season game entry, or to purchase your Away Season tickets. You need your bar codes. Having to call the club ...again..and wait for ages, is inconvenient.
I mean, if the service is poor...why try and justify it?

Hopefully, next year will be a lot better.

Not trying to justify anything. I just can't stand whinging!

Just as a comparison, we were about 3,100 ahead of the same time last year on the 11th.

I think we'll fall short of 50k this year, as membership has really slowed down (will pick up after round 1, but it won't be enough).

I thought that this was about time to bring some perspective into this thread. I am tired of posters who say that we are not doing very well in the Membership race or that we are behind previous years or that club X is braining us etc. Well facts are facts in that we are way ahead of last year and our Supporters traditionally sign up as Members later than a lot of other clubs. I still think that we can post a record, particularly if we get off to a flyer and who knows we just might give the target of 50K a nudge. I think that 45K is almost certain based on the progress so far. ;-)

The attached graph shows our 2012 tally at the various dates and the Gold lines overlaid show where we were last year in comparison. Keep in mind that the first number we got was after the AGM, so the overall growth doesn't look as great as it actually is.

Blues membership update

CFC wrote:
The Carlton Football Club would like to thank all members who have committed themselves to the Carlton Football Club for season 2012. Round One is fast approaching and we realise that a small group of members have not yet received their membership card and fulfilment pack due to the Club’s membership department servicing a high demand of reserved seats for the upcoming season.

Current Members
All 2012 reserved seat changes and new requests have now been completed. Any members who have purchased a Carlton Membership prior to 5pm Tuesday 13 March will receive their membership card and fulfilment pack before the opening round.

New Members
For anyone purchasing a membership after 5pm Tuesday 13 March there can be no guarantee that your membership card and fulfilment pack will be received before Round One. Please allow for a 10-14 working days turnaround time between purchasing your membership and receiving your membership card and fulfilment pack.

The Club would like to thank all members for their patience and ongoing support.

Please Note: Eligible 17 Game Members who do not receive their card and fulfilment pack before the Opening Round match against Richmond are advised to visit the Carlton Membership Marquee outside Gate 3 at the MCG on game day to obtain an entry ticket.

He said we'll give 50k a shake, I said we'll fall just short... we're going to break our record, but we don't look like hitting 50k right now.

They've finally processed them through from the last few days! Thought it was exceptionally slow.

Because I think we'll hit 48-49k?

Most notably you. :P

The figure halted for a 3 or 4 day stretch late last week, so it's reasonable that another 250 cropped up out of 'nowhere'.

We're averaging about 150 a day at a moment, down from 300-350 at the start of the pre-season. The hotline is open over the weekend, and the games advertised the details, yet we saw it grind to a halt after most of our games, except the Dogs game.

The fact of the matter is the results aren't selling the packages to 50/50 types and people who haven't been members before, at least at the moment. We're chasing up lapsed members and having a little less luck with that aspect (as you'd expect 5 months into a membership drive).

I don't think we'll quite hit our target, but it's going to be an excellent result, and a platform to build on for next year, where they might finally start implementing more than a few consolation moves to impress people. That and re-assessing how they can capture the HNW market share (level 2 reserve seat reclassification, $750 a seat season launch, sponsor dinners at the Grand Hyatt).

the fact of the matter is that the results are not having a massive bearing on the figures, in fact we are in front of where we were last year, so you couldn't be more wrong.

See, just saying 'the fact of the matter' doesn't make it so.

See, just saying 'the fact of the matter' doesn't make it so.

Point taken: the fact is that membership growth has slumped after all but one of our pre-season matches thus far. The rest is reasonable speculation on my part.
